The whole app has been redrawn, tab by tab. Home opens with one question and the jobs people actually come for, with the last three documents you had open underneath. Every tool is now a small sheet of paper with a folded corner, and each carries a colour chosen for what it does — red for passwords and redaction, ink for text, brown for paper. Files is a filing cabinet: folders are tabbed cards along the top, and your documents are cut into days — Today, Yesterday, then the day itself. Me opens on a membership card instead of an advert, and the settings underneath lost their coloured tiles. Also fixed: the Sponsored slot could serve a test advert instead of a real one.

Filling a form now works on the forms people actually have — the ones that arrive from a website or an email. Saving a filled form used to fail on those. It doesn't now, and the answers go into the real fields rather than on top of them. You can fill a form straight from the share sheet, without opening PDFz first. Scan, Import and Fill now appear under PDFz in Spotlight and in the Shortcuts app, and Siri will start them. Sliding the camera onto Translate no longer throws the subscription screen at you. The mode is yours to look at, with one card explaining what it is. And the widgets guide in the Me tab now shows the real screens, step by step.

PDFz 2.0 is a new app, rebuilt from the ground up. • Scanner — pages are found, straightened and cleaned the moment you point the camera. ID cards front and back on one page, passport photos in official sizes, long receipts stitched from several shots, and a book mode that splits spreads. • Editor — change the text that is already on the page, move images, reorder and rotate pages. Text, markup and signatures are live layers, not baked pixels. • Sign and fill — draw, type or lift a signature from paper. Fill real PDF forms, or build your own. • Convert — PDF to Word, Excel and PowerPoint with layout and tables kept, and Arabic or bilingual pages in the right reading order. • Find — search the words inside every document, scans included. • Wi-Fi desk — use PDFz from any browser on your network, with no cloud in between. • Translate — a whole document on the page, or live through the camera. • Protect — passwords, permanent redaction, and folders locked with Face ID. • 49 languages, with a full right-to-left layout for Arabic. • Contact support from inside the app; your device details come attached so you don't have to describe them. Everything except Office conversion runs on your iPhone. No account needed.
