I just downloaded this app today and I’m so impressed by the mission to counteract the misinformation and suppression happening in the United States right now. There’s so many cool features like the the Misinformation Tab which shows what misinformation stories are trending in the US and provides the actual facts to what’s being purported. There’s also the “coverage” meter which shows how suppressed a news story is based on how many major outlets have reported on the story, and its inclusion of sources underneath the article where you can see exactly where they got their information. 10/10 app I can’t wait to share this with everyone I know and this gives me hope for journalism in the US!!!
Replaced my socials with this
C.E. Kendall
I rarely pay for subscriptions on things, but this has proven to be worth it for me. Its user interface is so similar to that of Instagram, it’s been the perfect replacement for doom scrolling. I would prefer having articles to read for the stories, rather than bits of info, but the bits of info are backed up with the sources easily accessible, and this style probably appeals to a broader audience because some people are looking for just the highlights. This app is awesome and 100% worth the subscription, in my opinion as a journalist. Very balanced and unbiased. Love what they are doing here! Hopeful to see them printing one day.
Far Superior to Other News Apps
Skyskape
This is my new favorite app for media summaries. Although Interval markets itself as being a source for less widely reported stories— and it is— it still manages to capture the major headlines as well. Each story is presented in a very digestible way. My favorite features are the evidence and sources tab, which have links to reliable sources and the stories themselves.
Great start
The Zumster
I am an avid news reader and this is a great first start to news aggregation. I do think there some features like the ability to have lists, more variety in the types of news it holds (aka not just political) and maybe having comments and discussions could improve the user experience. Also having the ability to have an API call (unless I missed it) so this can be incorporated into whatever platform someone needs to stay current will be useful. Either way, happy to see where it goes.
New video section with daily updates and soon, special guests. Updated article viewing experience. New sharing options. Staff picks on the home feed with our favorite articles.
