Description

The Absolute Secure Access product portfolio provides resilient network connectivity for users to securely access critical resources in the public cloud, private data centers, and on-premises. These products allow users to transition from traditional VPN to a resilient Zero Trust approach, without impairing productivity or admin controls.

Absolute VPN provides security and confidentiality for data in motion by means of encryption and access controls. It also offers benefits to the end user, such as making tunnel and network sessions resilient and optimizing streaming video and audio.

Absolute ZTNA provides a software-defined perimeter via Zero Trust Network Access, creating a context-based, logical access boundary around an application or set of applications – wherever they're hosted. It shields applications from the Internet, making them invisible to unauthorized users. Access policies are enforced at the endpoint, avoiding latency and any data transgression.

Absolute Insights for Network offers diagnostic and experience monitoring capabilities across endpoints and network, allowing organizations to proactively monitor, investigate, and remediate end user performance issues quickly and at scale, even on networks that are not company-owned or managed.

The Secure Access SaaS platform leverages the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to provide highly resilient, advanced threat detection combined with user and entity behavior analysis (UEBA). Secure Access analyzes each device’s activity to establish a comprehensive baseline of normal network behavior for that device and user. Regardless of whether a device has Secure Access policies that route traffic inside or outside a tunnel, the new AI-powered network security and vulnerability detection capabilities continuously monitor all devices for deviations in behavior, analyzing network traffic, user behavior, application usage and data access patterns, including the following:
• Data exfiltration
• Unsafe application and web browsing behavior
• Malicious network port scanning
• New applications generating network traffic
• Denial of service attacks
• Device being used at unusual times
• Higher than expected network activity
• New network usage patterns
• Device acting as a server
• Device refusing server-like requests
• Device network usage is abnormal

Secure Access generates configurable alerts with rich context and direct links to detailed Insights for Network dashboards, empowering security teams to prioritize and investigate potential threats. As new threats emerge and user behavior evolves, Secure Access automatically modifies its baseline for each user’s device and potential threat profiles, ensuring your defenses remain continuously updated.

All clients require a licensed server to work.

What’s New

Version 14.02

Version v14.02 of the Secure Access client for MacOS features a new architecture enabling administrators to configure Secure Access policies using application names and to control inbound & local IP network traffic.

If you are using an EMM/MDM to configure your MacOS clients, it is important that you have an orderly migration plan before installing this update. EMM/MDM configurations for MacOS clients v13.51 and earlier are not compatible with EMM/MDM configurations for version 14.00 and later.

See our knowledge base article for more details on how to configure your EMM/MDM for version 14.00 MacOS clients:

Bad update

This is a fine VPN app -- when it works! However, the v12 update completely broke my ability to connect to our NetMotion server! -- Support was able to suggest a complete uninstall and re-install, and deletion of configured profiles... which did finally work after rebooting and doing so a 2nd time. But this is not the kind of upgrade experience you should have with a Mac app! Work on your pre-release testing, guys! ... (Raising from 1 to 4 stars, because the app deserves 5 generally, but still loses points for this fiasco release.)

Developer Response ,

Hi! Jamescat, Product management here, two things 1) if you are still having problems, please contact our support team and mention this note; they’ll do their best to get you going again. 2) there is an issue we discovered after launch in some upgrade scenarios that could account for what you are seeing. We are working on a fix, but in the mean time try restarting your Mac. In either case, please accept our apologies for a less than stellar upgrade experience.

Sincerely, NetMotion product management.

Why push a breaking change in the app store

Well, we’re not on MDM or anything else and completely blown out of the water with the macs on Silicon chips, the extension will not accept, work is now at a halt. Why would you put a breaking change into the app store with automatic updates, that should have been a separate item to download. To fix this, its not in their documentation: Navigating to the Correct Location in System Settings
The message Go to 'System Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions > Network Extensions' to modify these system extension(s) is your key.

Open System Settings.

Click on General in the sidebar.

Click on Login Items & Extensions (you might need to scroll down a bit within the General pane).

Look for a section related to Network Extensions. This is where you should find the SecureAccessSystemExtension listed, along with an option to enable or toggle it.
