Convinced you’ve run out of things to watch? Amazon Prime Video may be able to prove otherwise. The app is brimming with brilliant films, dramas, and comedies, as well as sports and children’s TV, all available to watch on demand. We love the ultra-high-quality 4K streaming and the slick UI. Oh, and the ability to create multiple user profiles and download series to watch later. There are also hundreds of Amazon Originals to check out—great series and films produced by Amazon Studios that you won’t find anywhere else.
I use the free version of the service and it is a good app for that. Being able to watch free live channels and free on demand shows is what makes it good. However there’s a couple issues that need to be addressed. Mostly with episode numbers and playback issue. There are some shows that you can’t list as episode 1 for each season. For example the on demand episodes of The Price Is Right the Barker era channel you have it listed as episode 1 for season 11. That’s incorrect. The first 5 episodes of season 11 were skipped and begins with episode 6. 10 episodes are actually missing from that season due to the channel skipping those episodes. Therefore they should be listed as the production numbers. Episodes 4581 through episode 4985. As far as the playback goes episodes 4581 and 4582 are played twice for on demand viewing. Where episodes 4851 and 4852 are supposed to be played it plays episodes 4581 and 4582. Or in the way you have these episodes listed instead of episodes 130 and 131 are supposed to be playing it plays episodes 1 and 2 for the 2nd time. Please look at those episodes and find the 2 episodes that are supposed to be playing on demand and get them corrected. Don’t forget to list them in the right way that I mentioned in this lengthy review. Thank you.
More and more, movies are becoming pay for view, and it’s incredibly maddening to say the least. For example, to watch Doris Day movies that are over 50 years(!) old you have to pay an additional cost on top of your Prime membership when you can rent them from the library for free. 7-8/10 movies I choose lately to watch are now an additional charge. It is becoming an extremely poor value for membership holders. Bezos, you have $245 BIL dollars and you need to increase the costs for those of us who have supported Prime from the beginning many decades ago by making us pay you More? After running many, many businesses into the ground you are coming after those of us who helped get you to where you are by getting more $$ for less value of your product? So much for appreciating your customers. I get you’re trying to financially overtake Musk but enough already.
Where do I even begin? 1 star alone just for the newest “updated” version of this app. This part of the update really focuses on once you are viewing the content, that screen. Otherwise, the app looks the same from previous updates. The time viewed/time left is gone, you can only tell how far you are in the show or movie by using your finger and trying to go backwards or forwards. The updated “trivia” “cast” is harder to find. Speaking of, it’s also in bolder and larger font that is quite distracting. I liked in the previous versions the boxes were separated between each cast member, trivia, in scene, etc. iThey took the boxed thing away, if that even makes sense, and it just looks clunky. The font is also in a grey color so it’s harder to read the cast’s titles/works. The font overall just seems to large, so much so it messes with the aesthetics of the app. Last but not least, it’s much harder to skip or go back. You have to really press your finger to go back or go forward now. This version seems awfully clunky yet in such big font but with dull font colors you can barely make out. If clearly makes no sense, it doesn’t even make sense for me to view stuff on the mobile app anymore (the only way I watch prime video btw). 1/5 stars- 1 star for the overwhelming large number of content on the app.
So you pay at least $99 a year for this and yet there are still ads? So you watch the 2 minutes of ads and once you get through you realize you don’t know what just happened in the movie/show so you hit the 10second back button only to be forced to watch 2 minutes of ads again so okay you watch 4 minutes of ads total and now you really don’t know what’s happening in the movie so you hit back 10 seconds again only to be forced to watch yet another 2 minutes of ads. 🤬 🤬🤬 at this point you wonder why your even paying $99 for just to get the privilege of watching ads with a side of movie so you do what any American does leave a 1 star review that you know means nothing to them but hey it’s the only civil way to express your frustrations with their scammy ways and so you go back to one piece since at this point your watching 1 second of content to 2 minutes of ads.And after all this you close out the app to reopen it just to find out it removed the movie from your continued watching reset your entire watch time and is making you watch 50 seconds of ads just to be able to skip to where you think you were in the movie only to force you to watch 2 minutes of ads each time you guess the wrong time. Screw you and the horse you rode in on.
So for the month of October, I added a separate card to my account aside from my primary card, I lost my primary card so I froze all transactions I took my second card off(after my primary card came), but I have both cards locked due to these scummy people still trying to run my secondary card after I took it off,I talked to AT LEAST 4 supervisors and they assured me they took it off here it is another month and when they can’t get the funds off my primary card(locked) they try to run the card they promised they took off the account, every time I try to make a transaction at a store I have to unlock purchase and instantly lock it back because rest assure less than 1-2 mins after I get a notification saying “prime”,the more they do it the more I get closer to mom dad siblings Masonic brothers to unsubscribe, due to proof they can care less god forbid my mom has her main card on there she recently had to move all her money from checking to savings and only move the exact amount and if prime tries to run it between the times she doesn’t put the money in there it will overdraft the account and the next day and the next, I lost all respect for these people and have no morals
Purchased a lot of movies. The app still recognizes the purchase but My Stuff/Purchases will only display 20 titles. Resorting from recent to A-Z or Z-A will display a different set but again limited to 20. Whoever thought that limiting purchase display list to 20 instead of being able to scroll though all purchases should be fired for incompetence. Tried to report but it sends you to a chat feature. After being bounced to several people, I got the standard uninstall and reinstall the app and restart ipad. Neither worked. Tried to report again and once more bounced to several different people in chat. They seem to be unwilling to report as a new bug when they fail to solve the issue. Their work around is to go to web address to access purchased movies/shows given My Stuff/purchases is broken. Alternative if you remember every purchase you can use search feature to find it and finally have the option to play. No more purchases until they get this fixed. The work arounds are annoying and take more time when it worked before the update.F on the last update and D- on chat experience.
Please, please, please either give back the “Next Episode” in-video navigation button or let users revert to previous versions. It seems like a convenient way to force users to watch the sneaky ads that pop up after a show’s main content is complete. Also has the annoying “bonus” for those of us that don’t like to preview the next episode (and accompanying spoilers) to be stuck or have to close the video player, scroll down a bunch of episodes, and locate the next one. May seem small but for those of us who tend to multitask, caregive, work, manage a billion things while also trying to sneak a short self-care R&R break - good gracious it’s a basic feature that when missing is so very, very aggravating. Please give it back. Thought for sure that it was just an oversight but just installed the newest update (issued a few days ago) and it’s still missing.Basically if you’re a multi-tasker DO NOT UPDATE. You won’t know how much you will miss that beautiful little button until it’s gone :(
The worst company and the worst streaming app I’ve ever experienced. If I could give it negative stars I would. They very clearly have bots leaving positive reviews to adjust their rating because the internet is filled with others saying the same thing i am. The entire purpose of this app now is to force you into buying a dozen channels just to be able to watch any of the content. The UI is the worst of all the apps. None of the content I’ve purchased shows up as being mine when I search for it. Countless times it has tried to get me to purchase a movie or a season I ALREADY OWN. On top of that, if you search for a show/movie it will often make it seem as though it’s free until you start watching. Then that literal same video and any sequels (that were also listed as free) will suddenly cost money to watch. I’ve tried filing complaints, giving feedback, expressing concerns with customer service. Avoid this app like the plague, you’ll sign over the rights to every bit of privacy you have and in return you’ll be scammed out of your money and ignored by the company when you try to correct issues.
Purchased Discovery+ subscription on my Prime Video account mainly for Expedition Unknown and am now being charged to stream it or can’t find the included version. Finding the shows the are included in my subscription or currently watched are too hard to find, however the same shows for purchase comes up first even when they are included in my subscription. This is a rip off. Why should the app charge you for shows that are included in your subscription? Why pay for the channel and this (plus others) that are included just to purchase what’s supposed to be included? Maybe this is a change but it’s too much work to look for what I’m already paying for. Also huge con that they don’t offer Peacock but I’m sure if I purchased their channel, it would be the same thing. Considering canceling as other streaming options can bundle more channels for a better price by the time you add all the subscriptions and don’t even get what’s offered without paying additional on top of the channel. Not worth it with other streaming options for me.
Whoever did their latest update, did a HORRIBLE job! One, when the video is horizontal, and you receive a text message, if you select your message, it closes out the video automatically. Previously, it would simply shrink the video. Second, my subtitles are on, and I cannot turn them off! Third, I want to watch some shows in other languages. I can no longer select any languages, and I know some of them are available, because I was watching them previously!Fourth, if you’re scrolling through videos to watch, and you select one, and decide to back up to the main menu, the entire app resets so you have no idea where you left off!Fifth and final, if you do exit the show you’re watching, whether to talk to someone, or answer a phone call or text message, when you go back to the app, it has reset, and it no longer has an area where you can simply go to the show/shows/movie you left and simply pickup where you left off. Nope, you have to go search for it and then resume. Total garbage update. Whoever is responsible needs to find a new profession. Unacceptable.
