Bring the light in your film back to life. AmberRoll is a pocket darkroom for scanning negatives, shaping color and building a TIFF archive. Four tabs—Capture, Darkroom, Archive and Settings—take you from a single frame to a library of saved rolls. CAPTURE OR IMPORT Place film on an even, diffused backlight and preview negative inversion and color through the camera. Import existing scans from Photos in your chosen order, or explore the workflow with a built-in sample negative. SHAPE THE FRAME Choose color negative, black-and-white negative or positive film. Adjust exposure, contrast, saturation, warmth and tint. Enable border trimming, color-cast correction and local dust-spot reduction as needed. Preview your recipe, then develop at full resolution. The original stays available for comparison. DEVELOP ONE FRAME OR A WHOLE ROLL Process a single frame or develop the pending frames in a batch. Filter by state, search titles and notes, and retry frames that need attention. Stop a batch when needed and keep completed results. Recipe changes require development again before export, so your TIFFs match the current settings. INSPECT BEFORE YOU ARCHIVE Compare the original and result. Review a luminance histogram, shadow and highlight clipping, and a detail estimate to help identify frames worth rescanning. These indicators support your judgment rather than replacing it. KEEP MORE THAN ONE ROLL Your originals, results, recipe and frame details are saved on the device. Starting a new roll saves the current one first. Reopen earlier projects from Archive's Saved Rolls to continue editing or export them again. SAVE THE STORY WITH THE IMAGE Add a title, notes and an original capture date to each frame. Export individual or multiple TIFFs to Files, or save a frame to the Film Scans album in Photos. TIFF metadata carries your titles, notes and capture dates for later organization. KNOW WHAT WAS EXPORTED Successful Files and Photos exports create local receipts showing the completion time, frame titles and destination type. Canceled exports do not count as successful. The latest 200 receipts are retained; they do not track later changes to external files. MAKE THE WORKFLOW YOURS Choose whether to resume your roll on launch, confirm entire-roll redevelopment, and include capture dates in export filenames. A guide, privacy information and permission settings are easy to find. PROCESS ON YOUR DEVICE No account or image upload is required. AmberRoll includes no advertising or analytics SDKs. Saved rolls and receipts remain on this device; export important frames as separate copies.
