Want the ultimate mobile guitar and bass tone studio?
AmpliTube gives you a massive collection of virtual gear that you can use to practice, play and record with world-class tone anytime and anywhere.
Build your own guitar or bass rig with up to 6 stompbox FX, an amplifier and cabinet with mics. Plug your instrument into your iPhone with one of IK's interfaces like iRig 2 or iRig HD 2, and get ready to be blown away.
AmpliTube CS gives you 7 stompbox effects, 3 amplifiers, 3 speaker cabinets and 2 mics, a free Loop Drummer Rock groove pack and a 2-track recorder.
You can expand this via a massive library of over 150 amps and stompboxes from top brands like Fender™, Ampeg®, Orange®, Mesa/Boogie®, and many more, or unlock the rigs of your heroes with gear from Slash, Dimebag Darrell, Jimi Hendrix, and Brian May.
Ready to hit the stage? AmpliTube’s Live Mode offers an optimized GUI for live use, with all the settings and controls you need in an easy-to-read format.
Control your virtual rig just like real gear: change presets, trigger FX, loops and more all right from your feet. AmpliTube pairs with iRig Stomp I/O for a powerful all-in-one stage rig, works wirelessly with iRig Blueboard, and supports other MIDI controllers as well.
AmpliTube also offers innovative ways to play, practice and record with an optional Looper, more drum track loops, a full 8-track recorder and DAW-style studio all available for in-app purchase.

Ratings and Reviews
Too much locked, too complicated.
First the interface is beautiful with faithful recreations but it’s way too expensive for what it offers. I couldn’t figure out how to import a clean well played guitar riff to reamp it without connecting to a computer? Really? Why do I have to be a software engineer just to import a guitar riff. the whole point of that function is to reamp or slowdown to learn to play it better.
They limit way too much behind a paywall. Im kinda bummed because it really is gorgeous. I’d recommend this if you have money, don’t need to import audio, and just wanna practice, then it’s probably a decent value, but there isn’t too many good reviews.
They seem to be taking a “my way or the highway” approach with the locked options. Um, no. There are plenty of free VST guitar amp software and standalone amps.
Check for yourself.
Good product - no customer service
Tried calling customer service with an issue and a couple questions. I got a recorded message on a loop saying to fill out the forms online and wait for them to contact me. I don’t spend time online and I’m not interested in filling out long forms and waiting days for a response. I felt with this issue with this company 2 years ago and go nowhere. Now I have another issue with something I downloaded in the past week and if I can’t get someone on the phone you might as well not have any customer service at all. No prompt customer service = no customer service. I grew up in a business. It did well because the customer service was top priority. Apparently that’s a lost sentiment anymore.
Good Tone, Weird Licensing
The Good:
- Tone is top-notch
- Good selection of models
- CPU-efficient
The Bad:
- Is not at feature parity with the VST version. Where’d all the reverb, delay, and other modules go for post-effects? Where’s the room mics? The DI? That’s some of the best parts!
- Crashes inexplicably. I’m not sure it’s reliable enough for stage work.
The Ugly:
- I was really confused by the licensing. I own MAX, should I have to buy the paid iOS app? Or can I just get CS and it will unlock everything?
- Support. IK Multimedia support is very slow to respond, if at all. When they do… it’s like they’re just trying to get the ticket closed and not actually help you.
