WOW!! What a great resource. I’ve been doing family history for over 50 years…self-taught and worth every cent. I expected to be overwhelmed, in the dark, too old to learn now. I’m pleasantly surprised to find that I’m better educated than I think…always nice to know. It’s surprising to find that all those mistakes, years of writing people, hours at the library with a patient husband caring for 5 kids,and a bunch of Eureka moments…usually accidental, yielded some knowledge. Now, thanks to the Academy, I have SO many new places to look, and tips and tricks and…I gotta go!

It's great to be able to watch these in spare minutes. The vids are short and informative. I mostly don't go for 'reading instructions' unless it's absolutely necessary. I prefer to learn as I go. I don't want to learn how to make a tree, I want to go make the tree! For the most part, I can do just that in Ancestry - even searching for records and clues is amazingly easy. These videos give me valuable info and tools I don't get from doing. I love it! I don't understand the bad reviews, however, I'm an ancestry subscriber, so maybe my experience is different?

I have been working on my family tree on Ancestry now for a few months straight. I found Ancestry Academy and before I even used it I thought it’d be a resource that is nice to have, but probably wouldn’t be used that often. I don’t run into hang ups too often when researching on Ancestry, but when I do this app is the best! I find it much easier to navigate than anything else I’ve tried. I’ve learned so much from this app!

I’ve been into genealogy for decades, but I still have a lot to learn. This app is quite helpful! I appreciate the short videos; I probably wouldn’t watch something 30 minutes or longer. These give me just the jumpstart I need on brick walls and missing info.
