ApiipA: API Explorer

Sensors, graphics & haptics

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

See an API before you build with it. Explore 84 hands-on exhibits, check device support and measure processing time. Start with drawing, motion and light. Discover your device by seeing, touching and trying its capabilities. Move glass spheres. Draw a line. Change an image. Touch a chart. Recognize text. ApiipA turns iPhone and iPad capabilities into a collection of hands-on experiences, with a short feature name and its framework beside each one. Start with light and gravity, then explore drawing, images, charts, 2D and 3D, Liquid Glass, SF Symbols and more. A consistent layout keeps the experience, controls and navigation in familiar places. Adjust a slider, tap a button or interact directly with the result. Swipe up for the next capability and left for its explanation. You can move straight to the next exhibit while reading a detail page. Open additional controls only when you need them. Explore: • Light, gravity and 3D motion • PencilKit drawing, image filters and typography • Charts, SF Symbols and Metal graphics • Camera, photos, text recognition and subject isolation • Audio, speech, haptics and motion • Maps, notifications and Shortcuts • Files, widgets and Apple Watch connectivity Browse a catalog of 356 APIs and capabilities. The collection has 83 feature screens, plus the opening experience: 84 exhibits in total. Some screens demonstrate several capabilities. There are 214 runnable catalog entries, subject to each feature's device, OS, permission and service requirements. Entries without an interactive screen are labeled as references for requirements and official documentation. Not every capability is available on every device. Get a device report you can use and share. Open Explore > This device to inspect the model identifier, OS, CPU, memory, GPU, motion sensors, haptics and depth-camera support. Run a fixed SHA-256 workload and share the measured processing time with the hardware report as text. This utility is free. Temperature and other running apps can affect measurements. Use your own content: draw and render an image, inspect a subject isolated from your photo, and recognize photo text. Discover an API that could set your next app apart. Try it on your own device; supported demos measure frame rates or processing times. Measurements vary by demo and describe the device you are using. Search by a feature or framework name, save favorites, and return to recently opened experiences. Browse for inspiration or go straight to a capability you want to understand. No coding setup or developer account is required. The first 7 exhibits are always free. Unlock every exhibit with a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. ApiipA is a hands-on collection, not a code editor or an app-generation service. Permission-dependent experiences explain their purpose before asking for access. Photos, audio and entered content are not sent to our analytics. Experiences using Apple maps, speech, music or other services may send information required to provide that feature to Apple. Designed for iPhone and iPad, with larger text, Japanese and English, and seven themes including light, dark and system appearance. Requires iOS 17 or later. Individual experiences may require a newer OS, compatible camera or sensors, Apple Intelligence, Apple Watch, accessories, a network connection or an Apple account. Unavailable features explain the requirement. ApiipA is independently made and is not provided or operated by Apple.
