iTarget pro is a very good concept, but needs a redesign and remake. Customer support is great, five stars. Had to return sled (see below), customer support understood my problem and accepted the return. Refund was made to me the same day they received the iTarget pro from me. Impressed!!! Sled - the current sled is made out of weak plastic. An iPhone 8 Plus physically fits in the holder, but it wobbles because the holder is only supported on one side and is too weak to hold the phone firmly. This wobble makes it impossible to adjust the red scoring circle over the target on the phone’s screen accurately.Software - works well, but could be made better. The sensitivity is adjustable and needs a bit of patience and trial and error to set up for the lighting condition; this is an individual issue for each user and can be worked out. The improvement I have in mind concerns the red overlay scoring circle. Currently it is adjusted in size and positioned by using two fingers on the phones screen. Ones the fingers are removed the circle disappears and there is a possibility that it has moved as the fingers were removed. It would be better if the circle remained visible while and after adjusting the size and position. This way the user is assured that the scoring circle is at the correct position. Turn it off when the green “play” symbol is pressed before the rounds are fired. The red scoring target overlay is the main part of the hits recognition and scoring system. Not knowing exactly its location creates a doubt, am I missing the bullseye or the system is not set up accurately.

I heard about this system on a podcast so I checked it out. Looked like it would work and was substantially less expensive than the high end trainers. Got it today and spent a few hours with it. Although it’s not perfect, I doubt it can be beat for the cost which is why I’m giving it 5 stars. In my living room, there are 6 can lights and the target reflects those pretty easily so I had a few tries to get the settings right to stop the fake hits, however, I was able to adjust it out and spent an hour or so working with it. My groups weren’t bad to start but in that short time, I was able to really separate trigger movement from barrel movement and improve. I moved it to a few rooms with other types of lights and had no fake hit problems, so I’m fairly certain the bright spot directly under one of the can lights was the reason for my initial adjustment needs and would likely be a worst case scenario. The adjustments for my iPhone 6 in the cradle were also not perfect but did work with a little fine tuning. Also, with a little tinkering to get the wires to get to the phone, I think I can hook my phone via HDMI and put the screen up on the TV so that I can see the display from far away. This will make a great training tool for the off season and I like it so much I just bought one for my father for Christmas.

So I just got the set up yesterday and messed around with it for an hour. I started in the living room with relatively low light since my wife was watching tv. No real issues with false readings. Main issue with accuracy was due to movement on my part when depressing the trigger. It actually was nice to visually see how much movement I had when firing. After a few shots I was seeing less and less movement of the laser and more accurate readings. After a few minutes my wife wanted to try it out but she wanted more light on so she could see the target rings more clearly. I turned on the overhead fan light and started getting false readings from the reflection on the target. After maybe 2 min tops of adjustments, it was working perfectly again. Only issue then was after I pushed the start button my shadow went over the target and I got a false reading. I just needed to watch where my shadow was as I backed away. Having a 5 sec starter delay for you to get into position would solve that issue. Overall I give it 5 stars. It was fun, informative, and easy to troubleshoot when the lighting changed and false readings showed up. An app like this will require some fine tuning on the user end before it works perfectly so I would recommend this system to everyone. Thanks.

My iTarget Pro target sled and .40 S&W laser bullet arrived today. Spent about an hour practicing in my kitchen from between 15-30 feet. The sled and app work great together. I tested it with two different pistols (a subcompact Glock 27 and a full size Glock 31 with a Glock 22 .40 cal barrel in it) and got consistent results. The target is rather small considering it's designed for 8x11 paper, which I like because it really makes you focus on accuracy. If you can hit this bullseye at 15 feet then you'll be making headshots at the range on standard silhouette targets from much further away. I was worried about how the bullet would work when you rack the slide to reset the trigger, but these guys thought of that. The bullet fits snugly, but not too snug, in the chamber, so when you rack the slide it does not eject. Rack aim shoot repeat. I took at least a couple hundred shots on the bullet and it worked every time. When you're done, it works best to use the end of a pen down the barrel to push the bullet out. I've got my level 3 security officer range test coming up soon, so I'll be using this a lot. My wife is not crazy about me using our kitchen as a shooting range, but she likes it better than me leaving her with the kids for some range time on the weekend.
