Meet AppLevels — a compact, easy way to control app volume
AppLevels gives your Mac a simple, native way to balance sound from the apps you use every day.
Adjust each app independently, even before it starts playing:
• Set a saved volume from 0% to 100%
• Mute an app without losing its saved level
• Send an app to a different output device
• Adjust stereo balance
• Use a three-band EQ, compressor, drive, and echo when you want more control
• Solo one app temporarily and restore the rest with one click
• Save complete setups as named mix profiles
• Search, pin, exclude, and manage all open apps
AppLevels uses Apple's public Core Audio APIs and processes audio locally on your Mac. It does not record, upload, or require a subscription. The app starts mixing automatically, follows your Mac's system volume, and restores your saved app levels. Pause temporarily restores normal playback while the app remains open.
Supported behavior depends on the audio device and macOS. Allow system-audio access when prompted. Some multichannel, protected, exclusive, Bluetooth call-mode, and browser-tab scenarios may require additional compatibility support -- please contact support and we will address it.
