AppLocker can password protect individual apps on your Mac. It's easy to use and there is absolutely no configuration required. Just start AppLocker, add a password and select the apps you want to keep private. It also supports Touch ID, Bluetooth ID, Network ID (unlock apps with your fingerprint, with a nearby personal device or when you are connected to your preferred networks). I was a young soul, full of life and joy. Upon buying this app, I was enthusiastic to try it out, my face filled with wonder at the allegedly “capabilities” of this mystifying, captivating app. But I did not realize that app of my happiness would soon come to an abrupt end. For this app GLITCHED. After opening it just ONCE, suddenly my screen was covered by the app, except the app DID NOT LOAD. My mouse was forever stuck permanently loading, unable to click away, unable to quit the app, unable to click on anything else. I was trapped. I restarted my computer. It didn’t work. Not a single solution worked. And so, this app forced me to buy an entirely new computer. It wasted $1,299 dollars of my money. This app, is disgustingly terrible. Do not buy it if you value your life. Without your computer, your boss will scream in rage and you will lose your job. Then, in an attempt to quell the fires of agony, you will buy a new computer with the last of your money. Pain in your eyes and desperation in your voice, you will resort to begging for money on the streets, glazing and licking the shoes of anyone who dares spare a single glance at the cowering figure of YOU. You will fall into severe depression, losing will to live. This app will kill you.

This app bricked my entire computer

Upon starting up my Mac, the app’s dark grey password screen (to unlock an app) completely took over my entire Mac screen and would not let me enter my password to get past it, or use the keyboard shortcuts the app itself advertises to get out of the screen, causing me to lose access to my entire computer. I had to restart into Mac Utility or whatever it’s called and reset my entire OS in order to get back to my desktop. Again, neither the shortcuts or password would work at all — the app wouldn’t even register that I’m hitting keys or entering letters — and took over my entire screen. I recorded this with my phone and will be looking into legal action against this developer; this problem caused me to miss an important work meeting and now my job is in jeopardy. DO NOT EVER USE THIS APP.

Used applocker for a year or two with no issues. Updates every week which is annoying, but whatever. Lots of companies work on agile and roll out incremental improvements. Most recent update installed, started seeing two instances of Applocker in the system tray. Twice in two days I logged into my machine to be greeted with a full screen Applocker window that could not be minimized, closed, or unlocked. The only thing I could do was restart my machine (losing any unsaved work) and uninstall applocker before it launched again. That's the end of this app for me. I don't recommend it for you either.
