What’s New

Version 1.13.0

- Collapsible Bottom Bar: The bottom bar will now collapse when you scroll down on a page, and re-expand when you scroll up — maximizing your screen space for a more immersive browsing experience.
- Adjustable % Page Zoom: Page zoom settings now show the percentage value of the zoom, making it easier to manage your view preferences with precision. Additionally, tapping the percentage value resets the zoom to 100%. To access page zoom settings, click the up arrow in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Browse For Me Instant Answers: Members will see a short answer for certain queries seeking quick information, providing answers without needing to navigate away. Examples include, “How many feet are in 2 miles?” or “What’s $500 in Yen?”
- Ad Blocker Transparency: We now show the number of ads and trackers blocked in the footer of the Tab Controls. To view, click the up arrow in the bottom right corner of your screen while on the page with blocked ads.
- Toggle Keyboard Visibility on App Launch: Responding to popular demand, we’ve introduced a new preference setting that allows you to control whether the keyboard should automatically appear when you launch the app. To access, click the up arrow in the bottom right corner and navigate to Site Settings.
- Initial Search Suggestions: New members will now see some initial search suggestions after completing onboarding, ensuring members can hit the ground running upon joining — such as “Summarize today’s news,” “Best movies of the last decade” and more.
- Default Browser Banner: A banner that prompts you to make Arc the default browser will now appear after extended usage.

Such a great browser ❤️

This browser really nails the quickness of finding information. The browse for me is an amazing way to get information without having to do down a series of sites, this really frees up the amount of time I spend getting what I want. While it’s not perfect, they are constantly listening to feedback and updating every week, there is nothing like it. The downsides for me at the time of writing this. * No Arc sync built in (but this is in the pipeline) * No iPad and VisionOS app (they need to make this widely available if it’s going to be a primary browser) * Hyperlink to apps, it likes to hold onto the page(Should have a nice button on top to give me the option to open in app and even remember what pages I decided to open in app with a way to manage this in settings) The pros for me at the time of writing this. * Great design (love the look and feel of it) * Browse for me is a game changer (decreases the amount of time I’m browsing by giving me information I need all while sourcing the information correctly) * Awesome company (the company has so many talented humans) There is nothing to lose trying this and this is by far the best value that would substantially increase happiness and productivity. 👍🏼

So much promise

I WANT to love this app (and the MacOS version as well). It has great features, seems like an awesome company full of talented people. UI is great. The big things at this point that are holding me back from 5 stars and switching from safari to Arc is: 1) the integration with the Apple ecosystem. It would be so much more helpful if the browser tapped into the api to allow users to fill in passwords and other info from the Apple stored info (kinda like Edge does). It’s a kind of a hassle having to either save passwords and verification codes in two places or switch back and forth from Passwords settings to copy and paste. This means using two browsers for different things or starting my searches and browsing on Arc and then if I do make a purchase having switch back over to safari - very inconvenient when the whole point of technology is convenience. 2) no (native) iPad version. Need to be able to consistently browse from one device to another. This needs to be somewhat seamless like in safari. Having to use a second browser on iPad is just counter productive.

Overall it’s a pleasure to use Arc on my Mac and iPhone and I have gotten to use a few features that work amazing and I didn’t even know I needed. Can’t wait to see how this product matures and hope that it can eventually fill the gaps and I can switch over to this as my default across devices.

After all these years, I have finally changed the default browser!

So over the years, I have tried various browsers, I have always stuck with Safari, simply because I’m an Apple user, and it’s always been so intuitive to work with the iPhone. About two months ago, I started seeing some marketing on TikTok for Arc, and since, I have not looked back. Currently my default browser on my Mac mini, as well as my iPhone 15, I do wish there was a browser for the iPad, but I’m sure that’s coming soon! There are constant updates, and the team does a really good job at listening to feedback of the community and then making videos and posts in regards to the feedback and updates. Lastly, the main reason that I love it so much, simply the browse for me feature. Rather than have to look through multiple different websites, browse for me, simply create a webpage specifically for me based upon, what I typed in. It uses various websites to cite its sources and then builds out a simple webpage for me to view and potentially share. This alone makes it the best browser on any device! Highly recommend you download it, just try it for a week, you will be surprised!
