Vivaldi Powerful Web Browser 17+

Browser champ for all the right reasons

Right now on iOS, you can go with door #1, where the browser’s integration is all that matters, with the convenient side effect of stifling competition by forcing WebKit and disallowing extensions. Door #2 wants to gobble up all of your information and make as much money off of it as possible. Most of the rest of the doors are inconsequential, essentially offering nothing noteworthy and a bunch of ads. Oh, there’s one that values your privacy…but LOVES cryptocurrency. Enter Vivaldi. Somehow, ads are blocked and websites remain unbroken. Fantastic. They value your privacy as well. Sign me up. They offer syncing and very feature rich browsing experiences on desktop (including Linux). This browser is a fantastic choice. It can be an even better choice if you write your representatives and demand the freedom of choice that Europe now enjoys on iOS. Bottom line: this browser deserves your attention.

Peak Browsing Experience

I have been using Vivaldi across my devices and I gotta say, it’s been fantastic. FOSS folk always nag on the fact that it’s not open source, but as pointed out by Orion browser, you can still have open source browsers do nefarious things with your data. The fact that Vivaldi is clear in a) what it does with your data if any is collected and b) how it makes money, gives me confidence that they’re currently leading the charge to a better internet. And sure it’s chromium based but that is by no means to say they steal and sell your data. Is it absolutely perfect and performant? No, there’s no such thing as a perfect browser for all people in all scenarios, but you would be mistaken to think Vivaldi doesn’t hold its own against the likes of other more established browsers and the team behind Vivaldi makes using it the better/obvious choice.

Go ahead, try all the browsers. Take your sweet time. Go flirt with Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, whatever helps you feel “in control.” Then crawl back to Vivaldi like a humbled raccoon that got into the wrong trash can.
