Neat, hard turn game

Cool game, very hard like other person said. I think you can still try it, emotionally moving story. Feels similar to other turned based games. You can watch other people online play it to get a feel for it. You must either wait or move once to regain Magi, which is the energy used in fights. If you are out of Magi you cannot punch or shoot which requires more energy. Also dashing uses energy too but this is good for actually dodging bullets. You can also equip bandages that can heal you in battle. It is also possible to runaway from some bottles by reaching a certain point on the map, I think the other reviewer didn’t realize this. Nonetheless, the game could use a difficulty slider so the story would be more enjoyable for everyone. I get that a game designer doesn’t want to make a game too easy because it will make the game not as fun to everyone. I notice that even games with an easy mode these days are not necessarily easy, and people are wanting to play harder games I guess.

Phenomenal on all counts

The writing, the visuals, the combat, and so much more - this game is an incredible accomplishment. It’s so polished and well-paced and brilliant. Can’t recommend enough.

neat but infuriating

The art is wonderful, the music is wonderful, and it comes from a great company. But this game is a stinker. And all due to the combat scenes.

The tutorial at the start was useful, but now that I've made it into the second chapter of the story, I'm finding it nearly impossible to win the fight scenes. So I think I've played each one of them about 20 times, trying different strategies, preparing with different skills, making sure I have something useful equipped. But in the end, my time playing the game the past week has been roughly 10% story and 90% frustration. It's just not worth the time or money I spent. Now I know better. Uninstalling.
