Aun introduces hiragana through everyday words such as sushi, water and rice. This first release includes seven guided lessons covering 14 basic hiragana, plus voiced forms and extra words you can read as you learn.

• Deeper: add romaji, guided stroke tracing and a simple sentence for asking for the day’s word.

Learn a little, use it today
• Meet each character and discover the kanji it grew from.
• Listen to Japanese speech and choose the matching hiragana.
• Put characters together to build a word.
• Find words on signs in your growing Kotomichi street.
• Finish with a small prompt to use what you learned away from the screen.
See what you can do
Your Hanaki tree gains a light for each lesson completed. Revisit opened places and tap the words you can read to hear them again. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets keep your word and progress close by.
Aun is free, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases. No sign-in is needed for these solo lessons, and your learning progress stays on your device. Japanese audio uses your device’s speech voice.
