BattleSync brings the classic tactical thrill of Battleship to iOS, wrapped in pure retro pixel aesthetics and nostalgic 8-bit chip sounds. Built from scratch with SwiftUI, it requires no internet connection, external servers, or accounts. Play directly with friends nearby via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, share a single device, or challenge the smart AI offline. GAME MODES • Local Wireless Multiplayer: Seamless, internet-free P2P matchmaking. Find your friend's room instantly without confusion using a 3-digit Room PIN. Built-in heartbeat protection keeps the connection alive for up to 60 seconds even if the app is backgrounded. • Pass & Play: Share a single device. A retro privacy curtain hides your fleet between turns so your opponent can't peek. • Single Player: Practice offline against a tactical AI equipped with parity hunt and target-tracking algorithms. UNIQUE MECHANICS • Dynamic Salvo System: Fire as many rockets in a single turn as you have surviving ships (Up to 5). Your firepower decreases as you take losses, making every tactical decision critical! • Mechanical Throttle Switch: Don't just tap a button. Drag the tactile, haptic-enabled dual vertical switch upwards to launch your salvos, complete with authentic mechanical switch ticks and runway lights. PURE RETRO AESTHETICS • Authentic retro color palette with an optional CRT scanline and flicker filter. • Live procedural 8-bit sound synthesis via AVAudioEngine—no pre-recorded audio files. • Toggle between Navy and Arcade 16x16 ship sprites, complete with dynamic wreckage on the grid for sunken ships. • Procedural 5x7 bitmap font and a classic arcade-style modal window to customize your player nickname.
