Novedades

Versión 1.1

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

The taxonomy has been updated to reflect 2016 Clements/eBird:
- We added detailed species accounts for the new Peruvian splits, so we now cover all of Peru's 1843 bird species
- We added audio recordings for some splits (where available) now covering 1515 species
- We added notes to make cross-referencing the taxonomy to the paper version of the guide easier

We have also fixed some issues reported by users (thank you!):
- typo fixes
- misc content corrections
- Better audio descriptions were added
- Illustrations now include descriptions (i.e. subspecies, morphs, etc)

Great app

Sure it's pricey but you get what you pay for. The images are very good and it looks like there are more compared to the book. The main advantage to the app is the calls. It also lets you narrow down the species by 6 regions. There are size, habitat and color filters as well that didn't work great for me but I've never been impressed with these features in other bird guide apps, so par for the course. I'm using it on an iPhone so I can't vouch for how it works on a tablet.

Disappointed

After looking at other reviews I am wondering oh I have the same app! There are not enough illustrations. Every time I want to look up a family the search function I can’t see all the members because the keyboard blocks the bottom of the page. Cancelling the search takes me back to the beginning and I have to scroll through the whole darn list. The life list function does not record date or location. I thought I was supposed to be able to use this and it would share my information with eBird. So now I have to keep a paper list. Only benefit is reduction in weight from not carrying the book.

Good App

Some species don’t have range maps or sound recordings. Other than that, it’s really good!
