Best Boating Peer to Peer

Boatsetter is the only boating platform I trust. Other companies are not fully protecting the renter during the booking. Knowing I have insurance coverage for liabilities while I am on the boat during the rental period makes the day less stressful. I also like how they roll the full price into the total including the captain. When I book a captained boat, it's nice to know up front the cost, even though I will be paying the captain seperately at the dock. I can't wait to get back out on the water!! Yay for using other people's boats!

Captain Did Not Bring Correct Boat

I rented a boat from a captain Nick on June 23rd ,2024 from 4:30-6:30pm. The first thing is he advertised a boat that holds 12 people and has a bathroom and small kitchen area for the guest. I paid over $500 for a boat that will fit everyone and the messages between the captain and I needed the bigger boat that holds more than 8 people which is why i rented the bigger boat that he has. When my guest and I arrived to the docking station the captain had an entirely different boat for us that only holds 5 people. There was not enough seating, no kitchen area, no bathroom there was no way to make things right. I ended up turning everyone away and having to figure out something else to do with our time being that we all traveled a hour or more to enjoy this day. He tried to argue with me and my guest and did not try to accommodate us for for any inconveniences he caused to us knowing I booked a bigger boat. Online you can see on his listing where he posts photos of a bathroom & kitchen area on the boat but then he pulled up on a boat that holds only 5 people no bathroom or enough seating .

Disappointing Experience with Unjust Deactivation

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Boatsetter, leading to an unjust deactivation of my listing. Despite my consistent efforts to maintain timely and effective communication with potential renters, I was cited for several incidents of alleged unresponsiveness last year. I believe this to be a misunderstanding, as I have always prioritized clear and prompt communication.

After this experience and considering my needs for flexibility in communication and more reasonable service charges, I decided to move my listings to another leading boat renting app. This platform offers a better fit for my requirements, allowing for easier interaction with potential customers and at a cheaper rate.

It’s disappointing to have to leave a review like this, as my initial interactions with Boatsetter were positive. However, I felt it necessary to share my experience to provide feedback on the areas where the platform could improve, particularly in terms of flexibility and understanding towards its users.
