Boomerang provides parents a powerful remote control of their child's iOS and non-iOS devices when installed in Parent Mode (MANAGE FAMILY DEVICES).

Boomerang in Parent Mode
▶ Review and request your kid’s most recent location.
▶ Communicate safely anytime within your family group with our Family Messenger feature.
▶ View your child's web browsing history via our Reports - requires SPIN Safe Browser (free download).

*Only for non-iOS devices*
▶ Control device allocated screen time and scheduled screen time plus set a daily time allowance on individual apps.
▶ Individual app controls: block, encourage or always allow specific apps for good/quality screen time purposes.
▶ Call logs and Texting logs: get informed of inappropriate words being used too.
▶ Review YouTube app viewing history and searches.

When installed in Child Mode (CONTROL THIS DEVICE), Boomerang provides:
▶ Reports of their child’s internet browsing history so long as they are using SPIN Safe Browser
▶ Ability for child to chat with parent and siblings using our Family Messenger
▶ Ability to locate their child and know of last known location

**Note for Parents Looking for Screen Time for their Child’s iOS Device: Boomerang cannot use the Device Management Profile so our screen time and app control approach have been removed. Fortunately for parents, Apple has introduced their own screen time feature as part of iOS 12 - visit your iOS Settings > Screen Time.

● Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Boomerang does minimize the use of the GPS when not being used for events such as check-in and setting changes.
● All commands and location updates require an internet connection (Cellular and/or Wi-Fi).
● iPhone 4s is not supported due to its smaller screen.
● Boomerang no longer uses a Device Profile for screen time and app controls on iOS child devices.

Worked fine at first

I absolutely loved this app at first because it was extremely user friendly and I could control my kids’ use with a touch of a button. The devices went into an area where the signal was weak and the app has not worked right since. It no longer updates their locations, follow the time schedules or send commands to their devices. It’s frustrating. Especially after I pay monthly for the app. I have since contacted support and I’m waiting on a reply. Hopefully it will get repaired.

Thanks for your review - your challenges started around the time Apple rejected our app. Please read this important note for more information (we should have also emailed you):

Good basic parental controls missing from iOS

Overall a great Free alternative to other expensive offerings and is a good start to the issue of missing parental control functionality on Apple devices. Using this to set times when my kids are allowed to use iPads (for instance Only after school and never after bedtime). Can also override the schedules you define to allow use of the iPad as needed. Nice that Parents can control the settings remotely from their own phone. Can be a pain to set up and the types of control parents are given access to are limited (both thanks to Apple and the way they lock down iOS). The app is a little buggy as the developers are apparently are in early stages, but support from the developers has been great.

Upset with Apple!!!

This is a great app, but Apple has decided this app was to competitive and much better than their update of Screen-time- which is a absolute joke!
If you have an Apple phone you can no longer use this app for what it was made for. Apple will not allow them to update their profile onto the Apple platform. I loved this app, it helps Control screen time without loops holes. Anyone using screen-time it has many loops holes! It doesn’t work like this app. If I could change all of our phone I would. You can fully enjoy this app if you are on Droid. I hope the developers can find some way to convince Apple to add this app back to IOS systems.

Developer Response ,

Well Apple is now rejecting all parental control apps... this is out of our hands. Sorry.
