Bosch MeasureOn 4+

There are lots of little issues with this app that others have commented upon. However, the big issue for me is that upon output to PDF the text measurements are gigantic and end up overlaying each other so you can’t see the actual dimensions you made.

I end up having to go back to the app, open the room with the measurements then transfer those dimensions manually to the PDF.

How, in the modern app world, is there not a setting for font size in any app? Is this still 2002?

I've been using the Bosch MeasureOn app on my iPad for several years. One of the main reasons I bought Bosch measuring lasers was because of the app's features. Over the years, I've purchased over four lasers and recommended them to around 20 colleagues. However, with my new iPad Pro, I discovered that the MeasureOn app I was using is no longer available, and there's a new version. I'm still trying to get used to it, but I discovered that exporting my measurements now requires a paid subscription. While I might consider paying for an app if the price is reasonable, the monthly fee for this app seems too steep. I've spent over $400 on a laser, and now they want an extra $15 monthly to use the app properly. To compare, I pay less than $10 monthly for music and $10 a year for drawing apps I use frequently. I don't think it's fair to be charged $15 a month ($180 year) for an app that used to come free with my laser purchase. This pricing is just too expensive. I hope they reconsider and adjust the pricing, as Bosch might end up losing many customers. After seven years, I'm highly disappointed and frustrated with this additional monthly fee on top of the hardware I already use.

The key features of MeasureOn (such as sketching a room including calculating room calculations, transferring measurements from your laser or exporting individual elements) are still available for free and always will be. You can export single elements of the workspace via clicking on the element (room plan, photo, note) on the workspace and click "share". Please understand that for premium features (such as CAD export, export of entire projects with your own logo or synchronization across multiple devices and cloud backup) MeasureOn PRO is required. I was initially very impressed by the laser measuring device and the associated app. The documentation is very poor and there is no way to transfer photos to your phone without plugging the laser measure into your computer first.

It also claims to have an cloud element but no way to sign in. And now the app is crashing every time I try to draw something. Also when you draw it won’t compute area even when the angles are at 90°. And if you have slightly different measurements on each side it doesn’t appear to compute the area even though why would you need this if you had a perfect square or rectangle! I want to like this but I do feel that a pad and paper we’re printing out copies of my plans would be much easier to mark on than bothering to sketch with my finger and then figure out how to export this via PDF an email especially since you can’t compute areas on a photo that I can see. I hope they will continue to improve this because I want it to be good.

Regarding the crashes, we would ask you to contact our support via measuring.appsupport@us.bosch.com so that we can take a closer look at the reason for this. If measurements are put in brackets, no area calculation can be done because of a logical conflict. We would be pleased if you could send us a screenshot of your floor plan with all measurements so that we can recreate it and find a solution.
