What’s Braille?
Braille is a system of touch reading and writing for visually impaired people, in which raised dots represent the letters of the alphabet, numbers, punctuation marks, special symbols and so on. It is named after its creator, Louis Braille, a Frenchman who lost his sight in his childhood and later developed a code for the French alphabet. These characters have rectangular blocks called cells which have tiny bumps called raised dots. The number and arrangement of these dots distinguish one character from another.

What’s Braille Academy?
Braille Academy is developed to help those who are curious about and interested in learning the Braille system. The two key teaching concepts are gradual introduction and focused repetition. The learning material is categorized into chapters and then levels to ensure efficient learning and training. If you are not particularly interested in Braille but in training and improving your memory in general, Braille Academy is also a useful tool.
-----------------------
Levels and challenges?
In short, a level focuses on introducing new characters with a small amount of repetition while a challenge trains what you’ve learnt already. In a level, you can click the INFO BUTTON (on the left) to read some TIPS and the hint button (on the right) to see the correct answer. The hints are infinite and always free. In a challenge, you can’t use the hint button anymore and you must make less than 3 mistakes to pass it.
In conclusion, I wish you a lot of success and a lot of fun in learning Braille!

Ratings and Reviews
Incredibly simple - in a good way!
I’ve always wanted to learn braille but I thought it would take a massive amount of time and I found it to be a bit intimidating. I found this app and it really simplified the process for me to the point where I’m almost laughing at the fact that I waited so long to to learn it. This app isn’t overly stimulating like so many of the others. I found it to be basic enough to where it actually serves its purpose and it’s also not overly boring. To be honest, it’s just right! It makes the learning part easy. Thank you to the developer!
Game makes this easy to learn as a group.
A group of friends and I are learning ProTactile. Fingerspelling in PT uses Braille so all of us are using this app to learn braille. It makes it so much easier and simplified and fun. My friends and I can compare which levels we are at and bond over the different levels and chapters. I love this app for bringing our group together and providing an East and shared way to study together.
Learning Braille really quickly!
Thank you so much for creating this. I was looking for a Braille Translator but finally broke down and figured I would try to learn. I don't know if this teaches contractions bu it certainly teaches the alphabet. I'm surprised at how quickly I'm picking this up due to the game. I can finally help my daughter with her homework. So awesome, thank you!
