Brainwallet® is a safe, simple & fun way for people to learn & use crypto. It connects to the most widely used blockchain, Litecoin (LTC) & it combines fun games to help you remember your seed phrase. Whether an experienced crypto OG, or a complete noob, Brainwallet® is a great app to manage your Litecoin bag.
Grunt Software was founded by Kerry Washington. He joined the Litecoin Foundation in 2017 & began volunteering working on Loafwallet. He soon rebranded it to Litewallet & spent 7 years of improving & maintaining the open source code.
Brainwallet took it a step further with modern features with the twist of gaming!
Just like Litewallet, its self-hosted signing functions are fully local on your device. The Brainwallet® team has zero access but uses the same technology as Bitcoin core & solid encryption libraries so you can feel safe that your crypto is safe on the blockchain.
- Why should I try Brainwallet?
Brainwallet is for both the non-tech people who are curious about crypto but fearful & the seasoned Crypto OGs who loved Litewallet & want the same reliability combined with the new features we offer.
- How do I export my history?
Brainwallet makes it easy. Just tap on history & export the transaction history in CSV or PDF format. The file(s) will be exported to your device. Quick & easy.
- How do I get Litecoin?
After you get familiar with the app, you may be wanting to start using Litecoin. The most direct way is ask a friend or family to send you some. Just tap on the QR code on the lock screen. Tap again to copy the address & send it to them! You will get it within seconds of them sending.
If you are the first in your group, you just can get Litecoin via MoonPay in the app. They are our certified ramp partner where you can buy Litecoin through their portal using a major credit card or other cryptocurrencies. We timed it & the whole process takes less 5 minutes. Just unlock your Brainwallet & tap on "Buy/Receive", set amount you'd like to buy then type "BUY LTC via MoonPay" button to start the process.
- Why doesn't Brainwallet support multiple cryptocurrencies?
From years of supporting users we understood that there are many wallets the offer multiple cryptocurrencies but the level of technical knowledge needed for the average user is much higher than normal.
We know the Litecoin blockchain & we understand the fundamentals. We offer top to bottom support. And, all blockchains use the same core technologies. Getting our users to a high level of comprehension is more valuable then making Brainwallet like all the wallets in the market.
Brainwallet adds some fun with games. It generates the seed phrase for you & it is ultimately secure. But you get to make your own way to remember using emojis. You can pick an emoji that personally relates to you when you see the seed word. The game uses those tags to help you remember the words...that's what a brainwallet is.
You never have to worry. Just like Litewallet, Brainwallet securely generates the seed phrase using classic battle-tested encryption methods used everywhere. The 12^ 2048 seed phrase (12 BIP39 Seed words ) produces 5,444,517,950,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 combinations. If its good enough for Satoshi Nakamoto, its perfect for Brainwallet.
