BVG Tickets is the official ticket purchasing app for public transport in Berlin!
With BVG Tickets you can buy train tickets, subway tickets, tram tickets and bus tickets from the official source and travel anywhere in Berlin. Purchase and download tickets straight to the app and enjoy your trip.

BVG Tickets offers a ticket purchasing service only and does not contain any other kind of travel information. If you need further travel and transport connection information then please download our BVG Fahrinfo app.
Avoid waiting for the ticket machine in busy train and metro stations by connecting the BVG Tickets app with any payment method like Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, SEPA direct debit, PayPal, prepaid, credit card or express purchase (registration and payment with Apple Pay, PayPal).
In our app you can purchase tickets covering any of the following tariff zones:
• Berlin AB
• Berlin BC (C area includes, for example, Potsdam and Berlin Airport BER)
• Berlin ABC (C area includes, for example, Potsdam and Berlin Airport BER)
All you need to do to get your next train, subway, tram or bus ticket straight to your phone is to register by using your email address, password, first and last name...that’s it. You’re good to go as soon as you purchase your ticket with the app.

Great app!
I haven’t bought my tickets yet but if this allows us to use our American credit card to purchase them then major kudos to finally making this a reality!

Fined 60 eur because of this app
I habitually buy 4-ticket packs, and in the last year the transactions have gotten longer and longer (1-2 minutes of the spinner interaction - I might as well buy physical tickets) and nowadays even fail. Today I entered the train trusting that this was about to complete and it failed (all on wifi), and I was on a train with fare control and was given a 60 euro ticket. The app says that I have purchased tickets using a past credit card transaction, but no record of this visible in the app, nor any tickets are visible in app. To emphasize: this was all while being connected to bvg wifi.
The only conclusion is that using this service in its current state incurs serious risk of getting fined, not to mention inconvenience because of the length of the transaction. This service used to work well but as of now is effectively broken and should not be used for day to day tickets, and I’m probably out 60 eur because of it.

Hi, we are sorry to hear that of course and our colleagues are constantly working on the performance of the app. At the moment we can only advise that you delete the app and download it again as this clears any old cache. Please note that you have to ensure that you are in possession of a valid ticket before entering public transport.
App crashes when you need it
Also for some reason you cannot buy an ABC ticket on the app. Twice when I’ve arrived at the airport been forced to use the ticket machines.
Edit: I got a reply from the developer and apparently you can change the fare zone in order to buy an ABC ticket. This app needs improvement with UI and Ux if a user whose has purchased tickets with the app since it’s first released didn’t clearly understand how to access that feature. To clarify I was trying to use my four pack of AB tickets to buy a ticket into berlin from the airport , it did not work. (most likely because BER is in C.) Did I need to buy the C ticket first and then activate the AB ticket? Could the app tell me the next step instead of just locking me out ?

Edit 17.03.2023: Hi, it is correct that you cannot activate a section of an AB ticket in the C area with a C station and we do not advise to activate a section of an AB ticket and to buy an extension ticket in addition, as this is more expensive than buying either a single trip ticket ABC or, if you use the tickets more often a 4-trip-ticket Berlin ABC. --- Hi, that is not correct, you can buy ABC tickets with the app ;-), you need to choose the ticket you wish to buy and then click onto the field "fare zone", a pop up opens at the bottom of the screen where you can change from AB to BC or ABC.
