I use Caffeinated constantly to keep my computer awake through virus scans, back-ups, and other such labourious tasks, because in spite of what the other program's say about being able to work in the background (including Apple), they never do. Caffeinated keeps everything going until things are well and truly finished. The only thing that I have had an issue with is allowing the screen saver to come on. That just doesn't seem to work well (if SS comes on, computer will eventually shut down anyway). My work-around is to have my background images rotate through to avoid screen burn.

Essential app for my M1 Macs

Exactly the right set of functional for my needs and well worth the minimal cost!When my M1 MacBook Air and MacBook Pro (M1 pro) go to sleep, always attached USB devices plugged directly into the Mac USB ports will lose connections. In specific, I have a USB powered SSL 2 audio interface that I need to be always on while machine is plugged in at my office. Whenever Mac goes to sleep, I am forced to unplug and replug that USB C device in. This app is the best solution I've found after years of searching for other solutions.

This app fixes my biggest complaint with similar apps - they figured out how to make the cup look enabled/disabled in both dark and light mode.I also like the duration menu, it's a nice innovation, but there's some rough edges. I want to be able to re-click the time that's already selected to restart the clock - it works for all the unselected times, but not for the one I'm using. Also the whole menu changes size slightly when activated/deactivated, which, as a Swift programmer, kinda bugs me. It's the sort of detail I would not let slide in my own apps.

However, I’ve also added your suggestion to our list of possible new features for the future. The size of the window changes because you have selected a limited duration. The Real Lyle
The latest MacOS update caused a problem-- my MacBook Pro will not let me back in once it has gone to sleep. I can enter my password, but it will not unlock. I have to restart the computer! So, Caffeinated solves my problem by not letting the machine fall asleep! Even without the bug, the little app would make life easier by saving me from entering a 20 character password at least a dozed times a day. Thanks a million!
