CAN Trace is a native macOS app for capturing, viewing, and analyzing CAN bus traffic in real time. CAN Trace supports any USB-connected PEAK branded CAN device for capture. Monitor live traffic with a fast scrolling trace view, switch between full trace and latest-per-ID summary views, search and sort frames, watch bus load at a glance, and send test messages directly from the app. CAN Trace supports both Classic CAN and CAN FD, lets you save sessions as trace documents, and export data to CSV for deeper analysis or reporting. Version 4.0 adds decoder extensions, so protocol-aware interpretation can live right inside the trace. The release includes a bundled CANopen decoder that turns raw frames into readable protocol events, making it easier to understand network activity without leaving the app. CAN Trace is built for engineers, developers, and technicians who need a focused desktop tool for day-to-day CAN diagnostics on macOS.
