About Canopy
Canopy is a cloud-based practice management suite for accounting professionals. The suite includes the Client Engagement Platform—the foundation of everything—Document Management, Workflow, Time & Billing, Insights, and Tax Resolution.
We use the Canopy Tax platform for Accounting Practice Management. The web based software is quite good as compared to other platforms. However, the companion app is fantastic! I can get so much pertinent information from it! It is very useful when I am out of the office, either at a client or just not working. It allows me to answer clients questions without having to log onto the software on my PC. The fact that I can log my time while working at a client’s office is also very good. If I had to ask for one improvement, it would be the ability to bill a client through the app. Overall I strongly recommend this app to any accounting practitioner.

We have been able to adapt r really well to canopy as part of our practice. It’s convenient and practical to have all clients info concentrated in one place and to provide them their own login access to the clients portal. I tell them that our office provides them with their very own digital file vault with our office where their information is securely stored and accessible at any time. It’s really been great. I’d love to see the clients ability to submit requests to the office through the same platform in the future.

We have been implementing Canopy into our practice over the past two months. There has been a painful learning curve and there are issues that can use refinement, however, the development team continues to make significant improvements and support has been incredible at helping with the learning curve. No regrets!Primary reason migrating from previous client-portal was for better user-interface. So far, feedback from even the non-techy clients is very positive!

Good companion app

Canopy fixed the ‘Active Work’ bug so I’m happy with that. Other than that, this is a good companion app for your firm management. I call it companion because it doesn’t sport all the features the web version does. It’d be awesome if more features could be added to bring the experiences closer together. Sending questionnaires and signature requests to clients through the app is my top request. Creating invoices and sending would be a nice touch as well. Overall, happy with the app, but there is small room to improve on missing features so 4*.
