Caption Wire is a viewer for live captions. A captioner writes, and the words land on your device as they are written.
GETTING IN
Open the link your captioner sent you, scan their QR code, or type the job code on the first screen. There is no account to create and no password to remember.
MADE TO BE READ
Captions are no use if you cannot read them comfortably. Change the typeface, the text size, the colors and the line width, and the captions redraw as you go. There are ready made light and dark looks, or pick your own colors. The typeface list includes a rounded face taken from the British Dyslexia Association's style guide.
SET IT ONCE
Whatever you pick becomes your default for every job you open, not just this one. Somebody who needs large text does not have to set it again every morning.
ASK A QUESTION
If something is unclear, send a short note to the captioner working your job. It goes to them and to nobody else. There is no feed, no other users, and no way for a stranger to reach you.
AFTER THE JOB
If your captioner makes the transcript available, you can read it back in the app, move through it, and save your own marks on the parts you want to find again. Your marks stay on your phone.
HAVE A LOOK FIRST
You do not need a code to see how it works. Tap "See a sample session" on the first screen and a recorded session plays in the real viewer, with all the same controls. It runs with no network connection at all.
WHO IT IS FOR
Attorneys and participants in depositions and hearings, deaf and hard of hearing people in meetings and classrooms, and anyone handed a link by the captioner working their event.
