100% ON-DEVICE
Captionry has no server. Your video and its audio never leave your phone — captions and translations are both generated locally, using speech recognition and translation built into iOS. Most of the app works fine with no internet connection at all, including in airplane mode.

Fixes caption quality on videos recorded with Spatial Audio on newer iPhones. These videos contain two audio tracks, and Captionry could transcribe the wrong one — producing garbled captions that covered only part of the video.
Also improves captions on short clips, where speech recognition could return only the last second or two of what was said.
As always, everything is transcribed on your device. No audio ever leaves your phone.
