CaptureEclipse 2.0 is a major upgrade to the version many of you used in April. The full list of changes is on https://almadenobservatory.net/CaptureEclipse, but here is a summary. - Completely redesigned the TestDelay to make it more robust, to provide more accurate diagnostics, and to not be confused if the camera contains test simulations. - Provided more comprehensive error messages - Provide optional background download of images during script execution. It will also allow the user to download all camera images when the script is not running. - Special support for most R Series Cameras - Selected models of the R Series (e.g. R8) allow more exposures to occur during the bursts by actively managing the shutter mode. R Series cameras can now be used with a telescope. - redesigned partial generator to allow 1% increments - will do a "best effort" on cameras that do not have a sufficient max shutter speed. Note for the R8 it is more clever as noted above. many other improvements

CaptureEclipse 1.6 detects and prevents several crashing bugs which are caused by the camera behaving in unsupported ways - Protects the Camera Preferences and Test Delay Dialogs against missing "safe" features in the camera. Some of these problems caused crashes. - Fixes a bug that prevented TestDelay from running in Telescope Mode (i.e without a lens) - Adds a new menu item under Help that Dumps the current program state and settings to aid in support. Note that I am adopting the precedent of Eclipse Orchestrator to prevent customers from waiting until the last minute to try this app. Successful operation requires preparation. Distribution of this application will be restricted from March 25 until after the April 8 eclipse. After the April eclipse world wide distribution will be restored in preparation for the October eclipse.

Tested on Sonoma and Ventura. Most testing is now on M1. Support for the latest Canon SDK (13.17.10) which should extend support to newer cameras. Canon only claims support for Ventura. Update to the USNO 1/1/24 measurement of ΔT ( earth rotation) for the April and October 24 eclipses. Additional Corona Exposures to provide more resolution on inner corona. Markers inserted in Annular Eclipse sequences to mark the ending of the Cxs and Max Eclipse. These can be correlated in the log to get the exact exposure times of the frames during these events.
