Description

Cart Life has been recognized for its innovative approach to storytelling and gameplay within the indie game industry. In 2013, Cart Life swept the Independent Games Festival's Seumas McNally Grand Prize, Nuovo Award, and Excellence in Narrative Award, underscoring its significant impact and influence on the industry, especially in its fusion of the simulation genre with a deep, narrative-driven experience.

The game's portrayal of the mundane struggles of everyday life through the lens of street vendors was both unique and poignant, offering players a chance to empathize with experiences that are often overlooked in mainstream gaming. Its success paved the way for other indie games, that focus on narrative and emotional depth, contributing to a broader acceptance of games as a medium for serious storytelling.

The game's resurrection by Elliott McAllister on the App Store and the ongoing discussions about its legacy underscore its lasting impact on the indie game scene. It's a testament to the enduring power of a well-crafted game to influence both players and fellow creators long after its initial release.

• Cart Life contains content such as the consumption of alcohol and/or tobacco, nudity, profanity, suicide, and a single fleeting moment of violence. You are encouraged to consider your sensitivity to these themes before playing.
• An internet connection is required to download approximately 32MB of additional game assets upon install.

Why are you charging for a free game that doesn't belong to you? Also P.S the full game add on for 2.49 does not work and ends the game after the first week. Do not buy

Developer Response ,

Hi Floppington p,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. I am Elliott McAllister, the developer of this version of Cart Life on the App Store.

Cart Life is an open-source game, allowing developers like myself to distribute it on other platforms. I completely remade Cart Life from scratch as a native iOS app, investing countless hours to adapt and enhance the game for the App Store. This is why there are in-app purchases available.

Andrus’ gameplay (as per the original game) ends on the second Monday. To clarify, Andrus' paywall starts mid-week, so if you've reached the end of the week, the in-app purchase has functioned as intended. And you would have seen either a good or bad ending.

If that’s not the case, or If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me via my support page.
