…the poorly written directions for registering and connecting the unit to wi-fi. I have an M.Ed in Instructional Design, and would be willing to provide assistance. The app was designed only for Chinese users.
- Cannot enter spaces in the Wi-Fi password, an incredibly stupid oversight.
- Using any other language, the layout of some numbers and text becomes misaligned.
- Not all text is translated.
- Time zone needs to be set manually, otherwise defaults to China time.
- Time zones do not support daylight saving times.
- Despite selecting imperial units, some parts of the app seem to be hard-coded to metric units, thereby causing issues.
- If signing up for an account, password is limited to 6-14 characters. This is a strong indication that the passwords are either not being stored securely on their servers, and/or they are using weak hashing algorithms with hard-coded limits. Either way, it reflects poor programming practices and is an immediate red flag.

Overall, this app seems like it was made for mainland China users then haphazardly ported to the international community. (Fortunately, I can read Chinese so I can get by fine.)

Literally the title of the review. I have owned the Scooper SE BayMax cat litter box for a little over a week and I have not ever been able to link the device to the app. I continue to get “Device Connection Failed!”. When I attempt to contact customer service between 10am and 6pm eastern, it either disconnects or says that I am calling outside business hours. The app is garbage, and the automatic functioning of the litter box cannot be used without the app. Do better…
