Description

Dr. Helen Bailey and her team at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Chesapeake Biological Laboratory are studying how often dolphins actually come into the Chesapeake Bay, how long they spend here, what areas of the Bay they are using and why.

Chesapeake Dolphin Watch allows citizen scientists like you to report when you see a dolphin in the Bay. You simply point to where you saw the dolphin or use your current location and tell us about how many you saw. You can also include photos or videos to provide even more useful information to our team!

User experience critic ,

Why require a login to view dolphin sighting?

Can’t see dolphin sightings without logging in? Why? I can understand advanced features like submitting a dolphin sighting could require a login to reduce malicious submission of sightings but I don’t understand why anyone who downloads the app can’t see the sightings on the map without creating an account. Increase adoption and user abandonment by allowing anyone who downloads the app to see dolphin sightings. Then move user registration as a secondary feature or part of the workflow before you can submit a sighting. Oh and go native.

Absolutely worthless

I tried this a few years back
It was worthless then and it’s no better now
Can’t log in
Im sure someone smiles while counting the grant money
Obviously you people aren’t serious about this.
