I loved this app but recently their have been some issues that are very frustrating! You can’t retry a level if you don’t pass it the first time. It will continue to allow you back in as if you are going to retry the lesson but it starts near the end of the test and when you get done it gives you an error saying you must retry. The only way around this is to go on a computer or use the safari/explorer on your device and go to chesskid online. There it will allow you to retry the lesson and once you pass it you must log out and back in of the app to get to the new level. Until this problem I loved the app and all of my students use it. The only other thing I would change is to allow access to the workouts in the app. As far as teaching kids or adults it is an excellent tool!
I’ve been playing chess on this app to practice for tournaments or for fun. This app is very kid friendly and safe. Most of the time I enjoy playing chess on this game. Overall, this app is pretty good. However the app has some glitches that need to be fixed.
1.) One of the most annoying glitches is when for some reasons ChessKid randomly decides to not let you move when it’s your turn. The only way to stop this glitch is to offer a draw which of course no one wants to do when your winning
2.) One time I was playing chess on the app when my opponent had 20 seconds left and obviously I could win. However when they were down to their 15th second, the app just said I HAD LOST and had no seconds left when it was my opponents turn!? ChessKid is a great app but this needs to be fixed!

Thank you so much for your feedback! It sounds like you may be losing connection to the live server which is is causing the moves made by your opponent not to render on your screen. We apologize for the trouble! We are working on increasing server stability but this happens mid-game again, you might be able to exit the app and return to the same game by entering back into Fast Chess. Reinstalling periodically can also help, and again, so sorry for the inconvenience! We hope you continue to play and enjoy games on ChessKid :)
This is a great app, all the controversy is missaid. Of course there will be some glitches similarly to other chess apps and the website. Not being able to move is most likely because of bad internet connection. Even if people beat you it doesn’t mean the game is rigged. You CAN finish get the star easily if you use common sense. Obviously there is less content since a phone is smaller than a PC. If your timer runs down ITS YOUR TURN. I cannot stress this enough: if you can only move your king it is not broken, you are in check。
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
