Question about castling

Aren’t you allowed to castle if the rook passes through an attacked square? The game doesn’t let you do that :P
Also, the lower levels of the computer are either way too good or they play the best moves consistently and then randomly blunder

Thanks for your response. We'll consider giving a random move when computer's strength has been set to the small value.

For the castling problem, maybe the king is in check.
