How to switch banks:

I'm pushing it on all my friends!
I read the other reviews and honestly, I LOVE Chime for the simple fact that I haven't had to deal with any of the BS. Never had to call customer service...why you ask? Because I've never had an overdraft or a random fee or a weird "surcharge" or anything at all that required assistance! This bank is sooooo simple it's exactly what I/we need in this very busy chaotic life. Direct deposit is great-I love how you can pull up your routing and account number and just copy/paste from there to pay bills or whatever you need. When I had to get that info from my bank had to sign my soul away bc I didn't have a check to reference! Speaking of checks.... Why has no one mentioned Chimes check mailing feature? Granted checks are very unpopular these dad we all have THAT ONE bill or one thing that we have to pay with a check... Pop on the app, fill out the "pay to" and amount and your check is on its way (issued from Bank of America- don't ask don't tell it works it's money and my rent gets paid), don't forget that THIS IS FREE you don't even pay the .50 postage! The app itself is just so user friendly that my grandmother could teach herself. Anyway, love Chime please don't go anywhere and help me get my friends and family on board!
Best decision I was forced to make!!
Unfortunately due to a career loss, having to start over and struggling financially for 3 years I had no other choice but to file bankruptcy. I was told by my legal counsel that the bank account I had would potentially freeze my limited funds because one of my credit cards was linked to my checking. They encouraged me to seek a new checking account so I could maintain what money I had. Because my credit was now poor, I was denied by two other banks a checking account. Most big banks now run your credit along with Check Systems to deem you a desirable customer. I researched my options and found Chime on a tech blog. I’m so very glad I found it! It is no frills checking and savings with a super simple app. It’s a traditional debit card in every sense. It’s Visa so you can use it virtually anywhere! Get cash back with groceries. Tons of ATM’s through money pass with NO fees! I know it may not be for everyone, but if you are sick of big banks and all their fees and tactics, I encourage you to give Chime a try. I’m very grateful to have an option like Chime. It saved me a lot of grief at a time when I’m already feeling insurmountable pressure.
Screwed me out of $1500.
I got a check for $1500, the issuer put my name as Nick, not Nicholas. I had them correct the name issue and initial it, something I’ve had to do before. After submitting it to chime they refused to accept it because it had been altered. I’ve had people make corrections on checks multiple other times and never had a problem with any other bank. Chimes advice to me was to deposit it to another bank. However, I was required to write “for chime mobile deposit only” on the back of the check before I could do the mobile deposit. By their logic I can correct their mistake and another bank had to deal with the correction but Chime will not deal with a check that has a correction. When I explained this to customer service they told me that I didn’t need to write “for chime mobile deposit only” on the back. This is completely ridiculous, the app literally will not let you submit the check with out first checking a box to acknowledge that you wrote “for chime mobile deposit only” on the back of the check. Chime has no accountability and refuses to help me. They told me to just get a new check. The person I worked for is now hundreds of miles away. There is literally nothing forcing that person to write me another check for $1500 and chime voided my check by forcing me to write “for chime mobile deposit only” on the back of it before they even rejected it for a correction that any other bank would take. This app is a complete joke.
