Description

Chptr is a place for communities to gather, share memories, and create lasting tributes to people who have died.

Mobile-first, easy to use, and accessible to all, Chptr empowers communities to stay connected while building a collection of memories around someone who has died. Whether you need to prepare for an upcoming funeral or want to memorialize someone who died earlier in your life, starting a Chptr can be your first step.

Chptr provides universal access to the healing process of memorialization, helping people honor those who have died in several ways:

• Stay connected with the community surrounding someone who has died
• Collect, centralize, and safely store memories, whether these are existing photos, videos, audio, or text-based contributions or newly created stories self-recorded within Chptr
• Easily invite people to contribute their own memories and stories
• Have complete control over the group of collaborators to a Chptr
• Access new insights about your person based on community contributions
• Discover inspiration from other Chptrs, and learn from their life stories

Instead of an expensive and temporary tribute to someone who has died, start a Chptr. For them, for you, forever.

A tool to make the challenging a little less challenging

I’m blessed that my dad, now an octogenarian, is still with us. That said, Covid, and a recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s has not been kind to him. I find myself scrambling to capture as much of him that I can while he’s with us, so cherished memories of him can live on when he’s not. My father lost his dad when I was very young and I have virtually no memories of him. Trying to avoid that with my kids. I can tell, already, that Chptr will be an invaluable tool and has already helped me organize myself around this journey that I’m on and think about the best way to move through this.

An incredible way to memorialize a loved one

This app helped our family through the grieving process when we lost our loved one. We were able to share, reminisce, and honor our dear uncle together, even after we returned to our separate homes and cities after the funeral. We continue to share stories, photos and other memories as if we were still in the same room reminiscing together. This is a beautifully made app that we never realized we needed; and now one we cannot imagine living without.
