Private keyboard sound feedback with customizable local sound packs. No keyboard permission required. Clacksmith adds satisfying keyboard sound feedback to your Mac. Choose a bundled keyboard sound pack, adjust volume and output, and create local sound packs from audio files you own. You can also launch Clacksmith automatically when you sign in and adjust its volume from the Shortcuts app. Clacksmith runs as a lightweight menu bar utility and compares count only key down and key up values provided by macOS for the current login session. It never receives an event object, key identity, key code, characters, typed text, source process, or keyboard event contents. Privacy first by design: No Input Monitoring or Accessibility permission No analytics or advertising SDKs No keyboard activity history No clipboard, document, or window content access Imported sound packs stay local on your Mac Modifier only presses do not trigger sounds. On some keyboards, volume, brightness, and eject keys may not trigger sounds. Key autorepeat is not counted.
