Clever Cleaner: 사진정리 및 메모리 최적‪화‬ 4+

I love taking pictures and take them everywhere I go. In the hopes of getting the perfect picture for the event or place, I take many shots (so many shots). As a result, I have accumulated over 46,000 pictures on my iPhone, many very similar shots. As the number got larger, I got overwhelmed. I wanted to organize them, but where to start? I’ve been searching for an app to help for a long time. I wanted one that would make this easy and painless. This app DOES IT ALL!. It only took a few minutes for it to read and organize all of my photos. I could have chosen the “one swipe” option to clear it all out, but I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to be able to choose which to keep. This app makes that process so easy. I’m not dedicating extra time to this project. Instead, any time I would have picked up my phone to do some mindless scrolling, I open this app instead and start getting rid of extra photos. It also has tabs dedicated to videos, live, and screenshots (I had 9 GB of screenshots?! - what a waste). Again, you can choose a one-swipe clearance or control what goes. One of the best features is that this app really does pick the “best shot” at least 95% of the time, which is remarkable since everyone has their own opinion on which picture they like best. One other great thing about using this app is that using it reminds me of many great events and leaves me much happier than the time I would have wasted on mindless scrolling.

I was skeptical, and it took a few minutes to figure out the best way to use it. I was not going to let it bulk delete hundreds of files without my review! Once I saw how to compare possible duplicates or similar shots side by side, I quickly discovered 140 images that could go - a gigabyte saved in about 20 minutes. (The app found plenty more; I’ll get to them when I have time). Clever Cleaner is remarkably good at comparing two, three, even four similar images and choosing the best one. I didn’t always agree with its choices, but more often than not it was dead on. Thank you developers for not only creating this amazing software, but offering it completely free of cost - no subscription, no ads, and no tracking!

After further use of the cleaner and checking my photos using the recently introduced swiping feature, I noticed that several similar or duplicate photos were not detected in the Similars tab (I want to preface that my photos include Real-Life photos and some Anime illustrations that I found to be really cool). While it does detect some similar or duplicate photos, it misses a significant portion of them. This issue is somewhat alleviated by the built-in duplication detection feature in the stock Photos app. Although the Photos app has similar shortcomings when it comes to identifying certain duplicates, I find it slightly more reliable overall.

That’s not to say Clever Cleaner is bad. It offers a more intuitive way to review and delete similar or duplicate photos, and the new swiping feature enhances this by allowing you to manually go through your photos on a month-by-month basis. This helps you identify and remove duplicates—or simply delete photos that you feel aren’t worth the storage space.

Unfortunately, if you’re looking for a more automated solution to remove similar or duplicate photos, it’s best to wait until the detection capabilities are significantly improved. With further refinements, I think this app has real potential to be a great tool for freeing up a bit of extra space—especially if you tend to hoard data. But right now, it still needs more time in the oven.
