Does exactly as it says
Battle Bot Fan
Cloud Mounter does exactly as it says: mounts cloud storage as a local drive.OneDrive is fantastic if you have an Office subscription, but keeping files synced chews up valuable SSD space. By moving files to a cloud-only folder, I get to use the 1TB of OneDrive and keep my computer relatively free. One thing to keep in mind: files are kept in a temporary cache whilst they are being uploaded. I didn’t know this. All I saw was the available storage plummit when I dropped a huge directory from an external drive to the cloud drive. Now I know this, I’m scheduling my dumps a bit more sanely.Fantastic application, well worth the money.Dear developers: It would be great if there was a monitor utility so I could see the files being transferred and how that is progressing, and see the cache usage. Yes, I know that I can get all of that from the menu, but I’d like to see a progress bar as to how the transfer is going when I do the huge data dumps.

Thank you for your feedback and your thorough commentaries. I will pass it to our developers, so they will consider adding a more detailed progress bar in future updates of the app.
Just wish there was a UI for tracking uploads
100 Watt Walrus
Love being able to mount my OneDrive in the Finder, as I keep a lot of data there that isn’t on my SSD. The UI integrates seamessly with the Finder, and is simple and self-explanatory.The one thing sorely missing is the ability to monitor your uploads. The Menu Bar dropdown says when there’s a transfer going, and how many files remain, and the Finder integration shows an icon indicating the upload of a file in progress, but NOWHERE is is possible to see how far along the transfer is. If you’re uploading a 250MB file, it’s impossible to tell if you’re 5MB or 200MB in, and as such, it’s impossible to even guess how much longer the transfer will taken. This is a major oversight on the part of the developer.Fix this problem, my review becomes 5 stars. (Having said that, I’m using the free version and if I ever needed the paid features, I’d probably just get by with HTTPS and FTP transfers, since the price is higher than I’d like — especially for subscription ware.)

Thank you for posting your feedback. I would like to inform you that the "progress bar" feature will be added in further updates of CloudMounter software.
Syncing Issues Plague the Tool
Richard Von.R
CloudMounter could be a fantastic product. Mounting cloud drives like physical drives on macOS is brilliant, and when it works, it feels seamless. Unfortunately, stability and synchronization issues consistently undermine the entire experience.Over months of daily use, I experienced:• Files appearing as uploaded locally but failing to sync to Dropbox• Items not consistently retrieving back down from the cloud• Frequent desync issues on both high-speed Wi-Fi and wired gigabit connections• Slow or stalled sync despite strong bandwidth (over 450 Mbps down / 350 Mbps up)• Occasions where a file looked safe in the cloud but simply did not exist when checked directly in DropboxThat last issue caused real-world data loss and workflow disruptions, leaving me with lower trust in my own file system. I am currently working to fully disentangle my storage from CloudMounter because I no longer feel confident that what I see on disk is actually stored in the cloud. To the developers: the core idea is genuinely excellent. If reliability, consistency, and transparency around sync operations improve, I would happily reinstall and even recommend this widely. The foundation is solid. The execution needs urgent attention.Until then, this product poses too much risk for everyday work.

CloudMounter works as a virtual drive rather than a background sync tool, but what you described shouldn’t happen. Please contact us at support@electronic.us - our team will gladly review your setup and logs to help resolve this. We value your feedback and want to restore your confidence in the app.
Does not work for all use cases
Dave Haughs
While the app does work and does mount your cloud drives, it does not mount them in a similar way to their native apps. It mounds them in containers that are buried pretty deep. For most it is not an issue and the app works well.So why the 1 star? Because the way the drives are mounted does not work well for terminal or certain scripting and coding. The web page and the FAQ explain this as it makes it just like the files are on your Mac. It will even let you mirror the files so they are stored locally. Again, not a deal breaker for most uses. They even offer a 7 day free trial where you can cancel if you buy the annual subscription.Unfortunately, if you are tired of multiple subscriptions and prefer to buy a lifetime license, there is no trial or refund period. I found out it would not work for me within the first hour. But because my use case is outside of their “designed functionality” I do not qualify for a refund. Unfortunately, I cannot find this on their website or any mention of special cases. However, had I done the annual contract, I could have just canceled in that first hour.So the lesson here is do the subscription for the trial then cancel and buy the lifetime license. Or find a better company to spend your money with.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback - we appreciate it.There is actually an option to mount drives in a way that allows Terminal and similar workflows to function properly — this functionality is already implemented. To enable it, please open CloudMounter menu, press and hold Alt/Option, and under Mount type, select “Mount Network Drive.” After that, unmount and then mount the drive again. Once remounted using this option, everything should work as expected. Our trial period is currently available with subscription plans, and we appreciate your feedback regarding lifetime licenses and trial visibility - we will pass this along to our team for review.
