Pin AR labels onto real clouds in the sky. Get Live Activity forecasts for today's rainbows, sunsets, and stargazing nights. Cloud AI in one app.
Look up at the sky, with new eyes.
CloudWatcher is an all-in-one cloud observation app: identify clouds with AI, learn from a built-in field guide, take quizzes, log every sky you see, and never miss a rainbow or sunset.
Features
Cloud AI Identification
Take a photo and let AI identify it across 10+ cloud types (cirrus・cumulus・stratus and more) with explanations of weather conditions and how to spot each one.
AR Labeling (New)
Point your camera at the sky and tap any cloud. AI labels stick in 3D space so you can compare multiple cloud types at once.
Today's Sky Live Activity (New)
Your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show what's likely in today's sky in chronological order: rainbows・sunsets・sunrises・halos・cirrus days・stargazing nights.
Smart Sky Alerts (New)
Forecast and sun position predict moments like "Rainbow likely" or "Beautiful sunset expected" and notify you just in time. Each alert type can be toggled.
Cloud Field Guide
The 10 WMO cloud genera with photos・characteristics・meteorological context. Jump straight from the guide into capture mode.
Cloud Quizzes
Three difficulty levels (beginner・intermediate・advanced) to sharpen your observation skills.
Map and Statistics

A Sincere Apology
In October 2025, we shipped version 2.1.0 as a complete rewrite of the app's internals. During that overhaul, we failed to migrate the cloud observation records that you had saved in the previous (Objective-C) versions of CloudWatcher.
For everyone who carefully recorded the skies day after day, and for those who had only just begun — we are deeply sorry that your records appeared to vanish from the app, and that it has taken us this long to address it. Please accept our sincerest apologies.
Recovering Your Old Data (Important)
This update includes a one-time recovery routine that automatically imports observation data left on your device by the previous version of the app.
・It runs automatically on the first launch after updating
・If the legacy data is still in the app's sandbox, your cloud names, timestamps, locations, memos, and photos will be restored to the new list
・Recovered photos are stored as legacy_*.jpg files
Unfortunately, in the following cases the data cannot be recovered:
・If you ever deleted the app and reinstalled it in the past (iOS clears all app-internal data the moment an app is removed)
・If you have switched to a new device and no longer have the device that contained the older app
We're truly sorry for this limitation.
Version 2.2.0 Another updates — A new way to look up at the sky
AR Labeling — A new third capture mode. Point your camera at the sky and tap any cloud to identify it on the spot. Labels stick in 3D space, so you can compare multiple cloud types in a single view.
Live Activity: Today's Sky — Your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island now show what's likely in the sky today — rainbows, sunsets, sunrises, halos, cirrus days, and clear nights — in chronological order. Never miss the right moment to look up.
Smart Sky Alerts — CloudWatcher reads the forecast and sun position to predict moments like "Rainbow likely" or "Beautiful sunset expected" and notifies you just before. Alerts mirror to your Apple Watch automatically. Toggle each type independently.
Refreshed Camera UI — Mode switching now lives in the navigation bar, giving every mode a full-screen camera view.
