Codelit gives you a small team of persistent AI bots that lives on your Mac. Create a bot in plain language, talk through the work, and keep each conversation, run, memory, and skill together in one focused workspace. Start without an account. Codelit can use its built-in on-device model on supported Macs, so local prompts and model output stay on the device. You can also select a user-owned API provider when you explicitly choose it. Codelit never silently changes billing families. Each bot has a clear job, approved memory, reusable skills, a local data table, and an inspectable history. Add specialist bots to a conversation when a task benefits from another perspective. Runs show a clear status while private safety records preserve approvals and failures without cluttering the conversation. The Mac App Store version supports local conversations, bots, memories, skills, multi-bot handoffs, selected-folder reads, and private local run history. It does not request Accessibility or Screen Recording access, and it does not include background routines, automated website inspection, or computer control. Requirements: an Apple-silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later and at least 8 GB of unified memory. Intel Macs are not supported. Before your first local AI conversation, open Settings > Intelligence > On this Mac and install Qwen 3 0.6B - Quick local (334 MB). Internet access is required for the initial download. Codelit verifies the model and checks it on your Mac before marking it Ready. No account, API key, or separate model app is needed. An optional 4.3 GB model requires at least 16 GB of unified memory.
