Since 1993, we have been sourcing coffees from origin and roasting every batch by hand. By developing farmer and co-op partnerships, we can be involved in every step of creating a great coffee experience. We are proud to offer our Session Roasted™ coffees in addition to Letterbox Fine Tea, and made-from-scratch food, Troubadour artisan bread, and baked goods.
Our name was inspired by the artful and funky buses used for public transportation across Latin America, “colectivos” (co-lec-TEE-vo), and the iconic part of everyday life they represent. We are independently owned and roast our award-winning coffees on a pair of vintage Probats in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. Stop by our Humboldt Boulevard cafe and see our roasters at work!

Introducing convenient cafe tableside ordering in the app! This feature will be available in select cafes to start, coming soon to all locations. Just point your camera at the QR code located on your table to skip the lines and move quickly through the ordering and checkout process. We'll deliver your food, coffee, and beverages right to your table.
This update also includes improvements that will help you easily find the latest featured products through dynamic product badging. Plus we're happy to introduce live search resuls (displayed as you type), and a more visible "Add to Bag" button so you can place your order with less scrolling.

App is functional but lacks regular improvements
I use this app on a regular basis. It definitely gives Colectivo a competitive advantage by enabling me to order ahead of time. I’ve knocked off stars because of ease of use and lack of improvements. Lack of improvements is simple - the app isn’t changed since I installed it 1.5 years ago. On ease of use - I order the same two drinks every time, yet I need to navigate through multiple screens to make simple selections. A. There needs to be a “favorite” drink, or “last order” option. I’d probably add that scone I ordered last time if it meant I could place a two drink order, that currently takes 30 clicks to enter, with one click. B. I’d like to see the customizations list reordered with most popular selections first. The milk selection shouldn’t be at the bottom, I know that at least 50% of the orders take something other than the default whole milk. C. During the holidays or other times, the Retail menu has been modified so much that I couldn’t even find my basic every day grounds. I used Stone Creek coffee grounds for the month of December because of that.
Good in theory but poorly executed
Getting rewarded for my regular spending at Colectivo sounded amazing! No longer do I need to go to Starbucks or Dunkin’ to get points for free coffee and food, but now I could do all that at a cafe I love. I loaded up my digital card and ordered in store. After the transaction, I looked at my points and was disappointed. One of the big draws of this cafe is that the food is amazing; however, you basically only get points for some beverages. No food. No retail goods. Not even bakery items... the loyalty program also isn’t upfront about how many points are in a dollar. The interface is polished and friendly, but the substance for the app and it’s loyalty program just aren’t there.
The app is adapting to the current pre ordering system so I get there will be glitches but what would make this work, putting pricing anywhere before having to checkout. How much do I need to add to my card? Who knows until you add money to the card and then check out. You don’t even see the price of the item in the description or once you’ve added the item to your cart. I’d rather know the cost under the name of the item on the selection page rather than the total calories which if I really cared about calories, I could find out in the description. Luckily Colectivo is amazing so putting a random amount on my card isn’t that big of a deal for me but it would be nice to know how much things cost before ordering.
