Description

Collective is the gayest app on your phone.

It's not a dating app - It's a Meet New People app, for new friends or new romance.

It's like a secret gay bar full of creative people hanging out, sharing art, gifs, memes, thirst traps, and more.

It's a healthier social media where people see your interests - not how many likes or followers you have.

It's a supportive community where members are kind to each other. Everyone is as cool and unique as you are. No headless torsos here.

So what're you waiting for? Come say hi

Other apps take notes

The obvious best part of this app is that it is being developed by and for queer people. Period. But what impresses me the most is the use of modern and fresh social networking tools built into the app’s interface. Features like photo folders, truly hidden like and follower count, a badge on unedited photos, etc. have made sharing content so much more enjoyable for me and honestly I wish other apps (instagram) would take notes. The app also makes it incredibly easy and enjoyable to find NEW people to follow and connect with. There is even a feature to connect with people in ur location without it being creepy and sexual lol. I feel like it is reminiscent of the early tumblr days when the gays were able to curate artistic vision boards while also connecting with like minded queer people whether they’re near or far. Loveee it.

The Future of Dating

This app fixes so many of the common problems of dating in the digital age. With most dating apps, once you swipe left or right, that decision is final. There’s no going back. That person is permanently written off from having a chance with you and vice versa. All in a split second decision. Upping your game on Instagram or Twitter can allow for people to see all of you, but it’s a popularity contest and a lot of times a follower count can be a barrier to connection with someone who you might be a match with. Collective fixes all of that. You have your profile. You can follow someone. And indicate your interest in them and change it at any time. And no one’s follower count is displayed. I really do believe that this is not only the future of dating for the queer community but the future of online dating in general.

This is the new insta for the lgbtq fam

I used to love instagram for its PHOTOGRAPHY. But now it’s ads and reels only and useless. I never see any of my friends posts anymore cause it’s always recommended stuff. Collective has created a grid scrolling layout and a more so private way of sharing your photos and gifs. You don’t see how many followers people have or how many likes are on a post except the creator of that post which I love. No more celebrity status just a fun community to see what’s going on around the world and other peoples interests!!
