Description

Cut and paste files and folders in Finder using Command+X and Command+V.

Without this app, you have to first copy (Command+C) and then remember to move (Option+Command+V).

You simply set up the app once and it runs in the background.

The moving of files and folders are handled by Finder. The app just intercepts cut and paste commands when Finder is in the front and then simulates copy and move commands.

If you don't paste after cutting, nothing happens and the files stay in place.

It also works with the ForkLift app.

Limitation: You cannot cut the name of a file when editing a filename in Finder or cut when using the search field. There is no way for the app to work around this.

Finally!

I switch frequently between Macs and PCs and it always drove me crazy that I couldn't cut and paste in Finder using the Mac-equivalent commands. I don't know why I endured years of frustration before checking to see if there was a way to use Command X to cut and paste on the Mac. One Google search, a simple installation from the App Store and enabling the app in Accessibility and my frustration has disappeared. As many have said, it does exactly what it says, but that is so huge. I just wish that I had found this app sooner. A huge THANK YOU to the developer for making this flawless and essential app available for free.

THANK you!

I switched from PC to Mac in 2010, and immediately had to install TotalFinder to get back Command-X functionality (what is wrong with the Apple developers??). I used TotalFinder, then Xtrafinder, which no longer work for me, following instruction to the letter. THANK you for creating this.
I wish it would grey out the icon as a marker that it's in action, but I hear the audio click that let's you know it's effective; I'll just have to get used to that minor change from what I'm used to.

Great little app, does exactly what it says

It's unfortunate that Apple hasn't provided a way to distinguish between selections of part of a file name vs. a file - as that would make this app even better. As it is, though, it's quite helpful.
