No i Cloud support

Ive been using this for some time to manage filed more easilly than the built in finder app. It works well especially managing data and my various HDDs etc. I recently wanted to sync and mode a bunch of data up to me icloud and noticed that not only is icloud drive not intergrated even the connection conection manage doesn't support it. I can connect to basically every cloud storage service OTHER than icloud. This seams like a pretty big feature gap especially for a core MAC product.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us; we appreciate every form of feedback. We do not advertise that Commander One has iCloud integration. Also, we provide a 15-day Commander One trial period, so you can test the software prior to purchasing it.

Great Mac finder, especially reliable, clear UI like Total Commander

Very pleased to see this. Please continue developing ;-) . Devs seem responsive: I asked for alternate line shading in the browser….and it soon appeared in an update! Plug in options to add features would be nice. TC (TotalCommander) has been in development for so long it has most features one could possibly dream of-but I never use Win any more. Wonder what the Commander One development plan looks like??

I wish this were available the first 6 or 8 years after I switched to Macs! I was in total TotalCommander withdrawal (except for use in a VM). So I learned to use finder & pathfinder and don’t use CommanderOnePro as my only finder. But CommanderOne is solid and great! E.g. the archive features (different compress engines builtin, plus ability to view archive as a directory-without dearchiving) are better than most other mac file managers. And the design with the option of old fashioned function keys for copy/move--looks clunky at first--but is 100% more reliable than drag/drop for critical file management tasks. Plus this’ll give me directory sizes for internal or external drives instantly—unlike other finders which often churn away or fail to update.

The best dual-panel file-manager on mac (updated)

As a long time dual-panel file-manager addict, I have had at leaset one such on every OS starting from Norton Commander on DOS. Commander Pro deploys nearly identical hotkeys and functions from NC, which gives a flat learning curve. On top of the conventional concepts from NC, there are some features makes me want it to run on all the OSes I am using; for example:
1. Mouting cloud storage: this is a must-use functions I found myself cannot live without after using it. Managing files locally from multiple cloud storages by keyboard without clumsy web-based UI is really a walk in the park.
2. Good CJK characters support: there are many apps do not properly handle unicode and have trouble handling filename contains CJK. I have handled a huge number of such files but haven't run into any problem.
3. Just found a super cool feature: Commander One is able to mount multiple directories from the same NAS, which OS X allows only one direcory to be mounted from a IP address. This make managing NAS much easier than native Finder, and so far haven't seen something similar from any other file managers!

my review

Firstly i was a hardcore Total Commander user, can’t live without it. And after switch to MacOS i’ve searched for an alternative and i was very sad that all of the available file managers lack features that is must have for me, ugly or just acts weird. Than I found Commander Pro. This is the best alternative for TC.

Here are few possible enhancements imho:
- copy/move files: if one file is selected for copy/move the filename needs to be filled in the end of path input, so you can rename the file if you want
- file overwrite: for me this is the worst implementation. Why is the “keep both” the deafult? is anybody use this? imho the default is need to be cancel and need some shortcut or able to switch options with the cursors. Oh and the "apply to all" needs to be an option not a checkbox. For this the TC is the golden standard.
- the built in viewer need to open any unknow format in text mode, not in hex
- draging files need some enhancements. When i like to drag file it always keeps select files, and when i like to select files it drag one of them
- the calculate dir size feature need some process indicator that it is in the process. Check TC for example.

Keep going!

Thank you for your posted feedback. Please see our commentaries below:

1) There is an option copy and rename file at the same time. Just press F5, then put a slash in the path field and type the required file name after the slash. If you copy only one file and type a new name after the slash, the file will be renamed and will appear with the new name in the target pane.
2) In order to skip this "keep both", please go to System Preferences-> Keyboard-> Shortcuts and activate 'All Controls' option.
3) Commander One’s built-in file viewer is available via F3 and is designed for viewing files in different formats. You can choose between the following viewing modes: https://www.eltima.com/wiki/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/c1-file-view.png
4) Our developers will improve the drag and drop option in further update of the app.
5) I've passed this feedback to our developers to consider adding such an option.

Commander One Pro -FTP Client

I previously wrote the following comment when rating Commander One Pro and for some time loved the software. However, the software failed to work about a month ago and I contacted support; unfortunately, I received no helpful support and the problem was not resolved. | "I have been an avid fan of Total Commander for Windows for many years. When I purchased my MaBookPro, I was disappointed to find there were no dual-pane file managers available for the Mac like Total Commander. While getting a Total Commander update for my Windows computer, I read a thread re Mac users inquiring about a file manager for the Mac. The thread recommended Commander One Pro. I purchased it immediately and never looked back."

Developer Response ,

Thanks for being a loyal customer and writing this awesome review. I would like to inform you that Commander One does not have the integration with iCloud Drive due to the technical reasons. As of now, you can only access the local copies of the files in ~/Library/Mobile Documents. As for "Compare directories" and "Synchronize Directories", I have passed your suggestion to our developers for further consideration. Thank you for your time and cooperation.

Great 64-bit SFTP Tool!

In anticipation for macOS Catalina's killing off 32-bit app support I needed to find a new FTP tool replacement for my old software. After researching several utilities, I decided on Commander One Pro and I am really impressed with it. It is fast, easy to understsand, and 64-bit. I am so happy they are not doing the subscription model like others are. I'm old school -- I'd rather pay more for quality software and not be stuck in another subscription. Great tool and I look forward to using it daily for years to come.

Select to Copy or Move

I would rate Commander One five stars with one exception. It's terribly difficult at times to select multiple files to copy or move from one folder to another. Selecting the files is easy, but then I have to hold down Option click multiple times before finally seeing the selected files appear ready for copy/move. Other than this bugaboo, I love Commander One.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for posting your review and sharing your experience with us. In order to Drag&Drop in Full mode, you should select the files, press the left button on your mouse and drag files aside, not to the top or bottom of the window.
If there is another mode is chosen, you can drag files to any side of the window. This performance will be improved in the next updates of the app. There is no option to open multiple files in preview. As for the issue with usb and sd cards, send us a Feedback report once it occurs again.

The Best File Manager!

Commander One PRO is exactly what I wanted/needed; a World Class file manager that is easy to use and has great fire-power. It does all the work of unifying my networked computers and allowing me to manipulate and access all of my files. I use it to see across both my Windows and Mac platforms, and to periodically play audio and/or video files on other computers. Commander One PRO was money well spent. I love it!

My go to dual screen finder replacement

I've been looking for a dual pane finder for quite a while. I had paid the money for PathFinder, but found it to be so incredibly slow at moving files on network shares that I considered it unusable. Commander One has a lot of the functionality of PathFinder and it does everything pretty well. The only small negative I have is in how it highlights selected files and directories.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this positive review.
I would like to inform you that file selection functionality will be improved in the next major update of the app.

Indispensable app for Mac.

I have used total commander on my pc for several years.
After moving to Mac, I tried out some apps to use the function of Total Commander, finally settled down to the Commander One, and I'm happy to use it.
Despite some limitations and minor glitches, I recommend this app those who want to replace or extend Mac Finder file management functionality.

Developer Response ,

Hello Kim! I can’t thank you enough for your kind review of Commander One software.
