“Complete Anatomy has a wider depth and breadth of offerings than other anatomy platforms currently available (e.g. Primal Pictures, Visible Body) as well as more detail in its models. Other anatomy apps do not offer the ability to share content and have fewer tools with which to dissect and label models”

- The Journal of the Medical Library Association

Great resource, but terrible for sharing unless your school buys it

I paid for an account for anatomy, and have study partners that want to do so as well. Unfortunately, even though there's a fantastic feature for saving 3D screens, there's no way to share them with other users. You can create a group as a student, but it is an entirely useless feature because the plan doesn't allow you to do anything with the groups. Unless your school has paid for institutional access to Complete Anatomy and created a bunch of groups themselves, you can't actually add anyone to your groups. This is weird because it seems to incentivize sharing accounts rather than buying your own.

Developer Response ,

Hello, thank you for your feedback. The option to share your screen to a group is a feature for Educator License holders. If you need further assistance with your license features, please contact us via Thank you. - MO, 3D4Medical from Elsevier

Game Changer for Med Student

I’m a year 1 med student and I can say that this app has completely revolutionized my studies. When I’m working with a cadaver, it makes it extremely easy to figure out what I’m looking at by adding/removing MSK layers, arteries, veins, lymphatics, nerves, etc. It is a breeze to figure out what should be immediately deep or superficial to something I already know. It is also great to make quizzes and test my knowledge… though I would love if they didn’t have to be multiple choice (it makes them a bit too easy… and I won’t have the luxury of multiple choice during my exams).

All of the landmarks I’ve needed have been easy to search in the app. For example, my Dad has lymphoma and I was able to pull up his radiology report to show him the particular nodes that are of concern… in 3D/real time. He was finally able to visualize what he is up against rather than working with his doctor to correlate PET/CT images to his body. Some of the landmarks seemed a bit “slang”, but they were still there. This app could be extremely helpful with patients if you take a couple hours to learn how to use it efficiently.

Great job, 3D4medical!

Good but lots of shortcomings

Not accurate to STEP1, anastomoses and artery branching are not in accord with STEP1. Biceps insertion is not accurate for most common cadavers and lots of structures are not in accord with Netters or what you would commonly see on a cadaver. It is a great resource, but many shortcomings. Another nuisance is the difficulty in using the undo function. It does 'undo' for every single rotation, which is completely unnecessary. It should only undo the actions such as adding or removing or changing a structure. Another frustrating item is the save feature. It is difficult to save a screen, and then to find it on another device is a chore. It is an AMAZING but, but so much comes short of being basically intuitive. Also it would be nice to freely rotate the cadaver as if in a cadaver lab, so that you could place it as if it were on a table face up or down, and practice identifying features as if during a lab practical. The only option is to rotate the ipad screen, which is not possible on the desktop. The app is incredible but also incredibly limited.

Developer Response ,

Hello, thank you for your comments and feedback. We would like to support you with this issue and so we’d appreciate it if you could contact our Support Team directly as we will need further details and information: In addition, we have a support article for rotating model; Thank you. -CL, 3D4Medical.
