Description

Control Panel for Twitter is a Safari extension to improve your experience on Twitter.com by adding new features and options Twitter is missing.

By default, your Home timeline will be the chronological "Following" timeline, which will only contain tweets and quote tweets from the people you follow. The algorithmic "For you" timeline will be hidden, and Control Panel for Twitter will keep you on "Following" if Twitter tries to put you back on "For you". Very Useful!

I had to fiddle with the Safari Extension settings a bit to get the extension to load properly, but it does work! After downloading and turning on the proper settings, it didn’t load while on Twitter, so I re-did it again and again, and then it finally worked.

Doesn’t work with full screen

I bought this to support the author but be aware that it doesn’t work for Twitter as a PWA (add to home screen), which makes it a lot less useful especially on smaller devices.

Kinda wish that it was a WebView with this added in instead of an extension, so you could have it as a separate icon and app.

Works well for the most part but…

It’s definitely an improvement from twitter with no extension, but I think that it glitches too often. It’s been happening more recently. I just updated the app today and I’m seeing the “for you” tab and ads again. I logged in and out and refreshed and it didn’t help. I’ll gladly update the review when this is fixed.

Developer Response ,

If the extension isn't running on x.com, you will need to grant the it permissions for x.com by either clicking the extension's icon in the browser, or via Safari → Settings → Extensions.

There is also an active Twitter bug we're looking at where viewing a user profile causes its page title to become "sticky", which breaks Control Panel for Twitter's page change detection.
