Collect text and screenshots as you work, keep them in nine groups or tables, and paste everything at once or even straight into a spreadsheet! CopyDown is a small menu-bar app for when one copy isn't enough. Turn on capture mode with Option-Command-C, then copy the way you always do. Every Command-C adds what you copied to your current group: a name, a link, a price, a quote, an error message. When you're done, press Option-Command-V to copy the whole group, then paste it anywhere with Command-V. Turn capture mode off and copying works exactly as normal. SCREENSHOTS, TOO Press Option-Command-S and drag over any part of the screen. The screenshot joins the group. When you paste into Notes, Pages, Mail, TextEdit or Google Docs, your text and screenshots arrive together, in the order you collected them. Nothing is saved to your Desktop. NINE GROUPS Keep separate collections for separate tasks and switch between them with Option-Command-1 to 9. Everything is saved automatically and is still there after you quit or restart your Mac. TABLES THAT PASTE INTO SPREADSHEETS Switch a group to Table mode and each copy fills the next cell, left to right, then the next row. Name your columns, and paste into Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets as real rows and columns, with the header row if you want it. Edit, clear, move and swap cells as you go. NOTES Press Option-Command-Return right after a copy to write a quick note about it. When you paste a list, each note appears indented under its item. PASTES AS A CLEAN LIST Each item lands on its own line, or its own paragraph in apps like Notes, Pages, Word and Google Docs. EASY TO TIDY Open the menu-bar popover to reorder items by dragging, fix a typo, add or edit notes, delete one item or clear a group. YOUR SHORTCUTS Every shortcut can be changed or removed in Settings. CopyDown can also start when you log in, play optional sounds, and hide its on-screen confirmations if you prefer. PRIVATE BY DESIGN CopyDown works entirely on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no tracking. It only reads what you copy while capture mode is on, and only takes a screenshot when you ask it to. SHORTCUT CONFLICTS CopyDown uses global keyboard shortcuts, so while it's running a default shortcut overrides the same shortcut in Finder or the app in front: • Option-Command-C, Toggle capture mode: Finder "Copy as Pathname"; Safari and Chrome developer tools • Option-Command-V, Copy group: Finder "Move Item Here" and similar commands in some apps • Option-Command-S, Capture screenshot: Finder "Show Sidebar"; "Save All" in some editors • Option-Command-T, Toggle table mode: Finder "Show/Hide Toolbar" • Option-Command-Return, Add note: app-specific Option-Command-Return commands (for example in Xcode) • Option-Command-Delete, Clear group: Finder "Delete Immediately" • Option-Command-0 to 9, Show contents and Switch Group 1–9: app-specific Option-Command-number commands Every CopyDown shortcut can be changed or removed in Settings. PERMISSIONS • Paste from Other Apps (macOS 15.4 and later): capture mode reads what you copy. macOS asks the first time; choose Allow. • Screen & System Audio Recording: used only for Capture screenshot, only when you drag an area.
