Countdown is a widget-first app that helps you keep important dates visible on your Home Screen in a way that feels personal and good to look at. It’s not trying to replace Reminders or Calendar — the idea is simply to turn your countdowns (or count-ups) into Home Screen widgets with styles that match different tastes.
When you create an event, you choose a widget look from a small collection of designs — from more decorative, “statement” styles to simpler ones that blend into your wallpaper. The goal is that there’s something for everyone, whether you want your Home Screen to feel calm and minimal or you want a widget that stands out. You can then customize it with your own background, adjust colors, and add an emoji so it fits your setup.
It works both ways: count down to something coming up (a trip, an exam, a holiday), or count up from a date in the past (like “days since we met”). For yearly events such as birthdays, Halloween, or Christmas, you can make them repeat so when the day arrives, the widget automatically resets and starts counting toward the next one.
There’s also a share option that creates a clean snapshot of your countdown that you can send to someone — with a background you choose (black, white, or a gradient), so it’s easy to share in messages or on social media.
The app includes built-in options and lets you create one custom countdown for free. If you want to create and manage more, you can subscribe to Unlimited Countdown. New widget designs are added over time.
