Excells at monitoring CPU overload

It’s good to be able to see if my system is overloaded when doing certain CPU-intensive jobs. It's not good to overheat the computer!

Okay

The app no longer works in the notification center as of OS 11. Also, the app lacks the ability to show processor frequency. iStat Menus integrated support for Intel Power Gadget to show processor frequency values, which is vastly more useful to me than processor use percentage alone. Otherwise, everything else is marvelous.

Developer Response ,

Hi pgcrowe,

The latest CPU Check Mac app version 1.0.11 and higher support the new macOS Big Sur widgets. And you can choose up to 7 best widgets, from a single progress bar to a multiple progress bar for each CPU. Or if you want to keep it simple, you can get the total CPU usage in percentage number.

If you like this big update, do not forget to rate this to 5 stars.

It works but resource heavy

If you're looking for a light app which does similarly with widgets and all that I don't think it exists. Presumably there's a lot of calculation inolved in displaying the graphs, etc, so it's going to spike one of your performance cores pretty hard no matter what settings you use. This is -not- a light app.
